Expert Analysis

Reyleigh is a proven winner and seasoned vet when it comes to high school basketball. She is a wing player that has nice touch from both 3 point range and mid-range, but is surprisingly physical inside as well. The true mark of a high level scorer is both the ability to get easy baskets and the consistency to do it game-in and game-out. Hess shot a staggering 119 free-throws last season, a stat that directly shows how aggressively she plays around the rim. After a great summer with Hardwood Evolution she enters her senior year blooming with confidence – Physically stronger and division 1 committed (California Baptist) – Watch out for Reyleigh and the Windsor Wizards to make a serious title run this season, and for Hess to score a boatload of points while doing it.

Reyleigh, a California Baptist WBB commit, has been a game changer since she entered the high school basketball scene. Her sophomore year she led Windsor to the 5A state championship game and last season she willed an extremely young group to the elite 8. Reyleigh is a 3 level scorer, competes on the glass, and doesn’t shy away from physicality. Besides all that perhaps her best quality is the high level communication skills and ability to be a leader on her team. There is no doubt with Reyleigh leading the way Windsor is a serious state title contender this season.

Hess remains a high motor forward who is constantly a threat. All over the glass, she was not playing like an offseason game, constantly initiating contact to secure the rebound. Willing to draw contact on putbacks or drives, Hess drew about a dozen free throws in her first couple games on the day. Still growing as a playmaker with the ball, she looks to pick her spots within the halfcourt, rarely forcing difficult attempts. Defensively, her length and motor has allowed her to be a net positive, similar to previous years.

over the past two seasons, a wing that is capable of playing multiple positions on the court depending on matchups. Her ability to bring the ball up and create for herself and ours is what makes their team so tough to defend. This past year defensively she was locked in and refused to give up easy baskets at the rim.

Erupting for the start of the season, Hess has been incredibly productive, serving as the focal point for Windsor’s offense. The shooting guard has kicked off the season with 19.3 points and 11.7 rebounds per game while going 6/14 from beyond the arc through her first three games. With a constant motor on the glass, Hess is among the state’s most productive scorers thanks to her willingness to crash the glass. Posting 20 offensive to 15 defensive rebounds, she is among few prospects with a ratio higher on the offensive glass than defensive end, landing among the top in 5A for totals.
