Prep Girls Hoops Michigan came out with an updated prospect rankings for the class of 2022. There were some players that rose up the rankings and could very easily be considered ’stockrisers’.
Here’s a look at some of those rising stars:
[player_tooltip player_id="253597" first="Ashley" last="Bower"] (SG, Portland)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #30
Bower continues to shoot up the rankings. She’s an elite scorer in the backcourt and does it on a consistent basis. The Wayne State commit definitely deserves her meteoric rise.
[player_tooltip player_id="147742" first="Alaila" last="Walker"] (SG, Kalamazoo Central)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #38
Walker simply continues to do everything she needs to do to impress. She recently committed to Lincoln University, and let me tell you, they may have just gotten a steal. Walker really creates offensively and can score from all 3 levels.
[player_tooltip player_id="147782" first="Anna" last="Fernandez"] (PG, Plymouth Christian)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #54
If you haven’t seen Fernandez play, I highly advise getting out to see her. First of all, she’s a stone cold shooter that basically has unlimited range and is a game changer from behind the arc. Even more impressive is her all around development as a floor general.
[player_tooltip player_id="186364" first="Alexandra" last="Kolnitys"] (PG, Midland Dow)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #66
Kolnitys honestly has a very viable argument that her ranking should have gone up even more. Especially considering her start to this season. Kolnitys has thrived as a bucket getter as well as a distributer.
[player_tooltip player_id="147785" first="Kalin" last="Bates"] (CG, Livonia Franklin)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #72
Bates really caught my eye at a Flight Hankamp Open Run at Michigan Sports Facility. She shot the back end off the ball, making me a firm believer that she could end up as one of the better all around shooters in the senior class. Bates has the ball handling skills to go with it.
[player_tooltip player_id="277638" first="Emmalyn" last="Geers"] (SF, Kent City)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #78
Geers honestly probably deserved to rise even quicker than she did. She’s such a well rounded talent that just helps her team win. During any given game, her stat line can touch all corners of the stat sheet. There really isn’t anything that Geers can’t do well.
[player_tooltip player_id="227317" first="Maddie" last="Schuur"] (SG, Zeeland East)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #106
Schuur grabbed my attention during grassroots season, and I’ve kept an open eye her way ever since. The Spring Arbor commit has thrived as a scorer and a leader for a while now. She has a bright future at the next level.
[player_tooltip player_id="227584" first="Lizzy" last="Scharer"] (PG, Lenawee Christian)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #106
I was thoroughly impressed with Scharer at the Flight Hankamp Scrimmages. It’s not about the numbers for her. She breaks down the defense by going downhill with the ball in her hands. Scharer draws defenders and either dishes off a drop pass or kicks out to open shooters.
[player_tooltip player_id="227588" first="Kylie" last="Summer"] (SG, Lenawee Christian)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #123
Summer was the MOP at the Flight Hankamp Scrimmages, and for good reason. She doesn’t have to be ball dominant in order to put points on the board, as her efficiency shooting is terrific. Summer is another excellent commit in the backcourt for Spring Arbor.
[player_tooltip player_id="277655" first="Sarah" last="Ebel"] (PF, Brighton)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #134
Ebel is a player that could really argue that she deserves to be ranked even higher. Go across the country, state to state, and find me a more skilled player at this number. There won’t be many, if any. Ebel will play at Hope College next season.
