Prep Girls Hoops had a bit change of plans last night here in the Upstate. We had planned on taking in one game, but Covid-19 had other plans. The Prep Girls Hoops staff switched it up and found a game here in Spartanburg. Let’s check out the action from Viking Arena from the campus of Spartanburg HS.
NO SENIORS HERE:
The Gaffney HS Lady Indians have NO SENIORS on the roster this season for longtime Head Coach Mark Huff. The Lady Indians improved to (11-4) on the season with a 56-25 win over the Lady Vikings last night.
Super Sophomore:

[player_tooltip player_id="359523" first="Shyrique" last="Parker"] was way too much for the Lady Vikings tonight. Parker scored all of her points tonight attacking the basket in transition. She scored 20 points tonight while picking up several steals along the way. Shyrique was very active in the passing lanes and was able to create havoc all night long. Parker came into the game averaging 16 ppg, 8.4 rebounds and 3.3 steals.
Versatility:
[player_tooltip player_id="266073" first="Leah" last="Page"] was able to play inside-all out all night long. Leah played on the ball for the most of the first quarter then played off the ball the rest of the way. She brings good leadership to the floor with her ability to communicate with her teammates on and off the floor. Leah has a great feel for the game and reactions. She constantly stays active all game long especially always moving away from the ball.
Page collected 11 rebounds and dropped 12 points tonight according to my unofficial stats. Leah has a great set of hands while collecting anything thrown to her. Look for her to make some noise in the next set of 2023 Palmetto State Rankings.
Little Is More In The Paint:
[player_tooltip player_id="373423" first="Moriah" last="Little"] patrolled the paint all evening long for the Lady Indians. Moriah a junior was able connect on some short elbow jumpers. She does a good job of keeping the ball up high after collecting it off the boards. Moriah scored 8 points in the lopsided win this evening.
The Lady Vikings:

The Lady Vikings trailed just 8-6 at the end of the first quarter last night. Spartanburg HS didn’t have the services of [player_tooltip player_id="251765" first="Genesis" last="Young"] last night. The Lady Vikings countered with [player_tooltip player_id="373426" first="Kam" last="Sainvil"] a member of the 2025 class. Sainvil played aggressive all game long despite being on the losing end. Kam looked to attack the basket as much possible and didn’t keep away her spirit down despite being on the losing end.
