Walking Double-Doubles

We’re halfway through the 2022 season and several players have established themselves as threats to get 10+ points and 10+ rebounds every night out. Here’s a look at some of Kentucky’s double-double machines. [player_tooltip player_id="374120" first="Ellie" last="Cheatam"], Adair County - Adair has limped through the season thus far but it’s not for a lack of effort from Ellie. The Sophomore forward is leading the Indians in scoring and rebounding with 12 points and 13 rebounds per game and leads her team in nearly every statistical category. [player_tooltip player_id="374121" first="Cheyenne" last="D’Souza"], Lewis County - Another forward who is leading her entire team in nearly every category, Cheyenne has been averaging a remarkable 16 points and 11 rebounds per game thus far. D’Souza and Sarah Weddington are a formidable duo and could have Lewis in the mix to make a surprise run in the regional tournament this spring if they can get some help. [player_tooltip player_id="374123" first="Kayla" last="Grant"], Greenwood - The Lady Gators have surprised some folks in the 4th region so far this season and the emergence of Kayla has been a bright spot for Greenwood to this point. She’s averaging 11 points and 12 rebounds per contest and providing a solid inside presence to go with a guard powered offense for Coach Simpson’s squad. [player_tooltip player_id="254279" first="Leah" last="Macy"], Mercy - A lot was made of Macy’s transfer from Bardstown right before the season started but lost in all the buzz around that move is the fact that Leah is still one of the best prospects Kentucky has seen in the last several years. Just a freshman, Macy is averaging 19 points and 12 rebounds per game and shooting a ridiculous 64% from the field overall. Her ceiling as a prospect is ridiculous! [player_tooltip player_id="157954" first="Rylee" last="Turner"], Newport Central Catholic - Not just the leading scorer in the state so far this season, Rylee is also 11th in Kentucky in rebounding. Turner has to be the most valuable player in the state to her team as she puts NCC on her back nearly every night out. You can just about be guaranteed that any NCC game will end with 20+ points and 10+ rebounds for Rylee.
