Northwest (21-2) went out and did what they were supposed to do making a quick statement on how they will make a run in the tournament, right from the tip-off they went on an 18-0 run and never looked back a lot of their starters didn’t have to worry about playing big minutes may not even see that in the next round. The way they are playing it will be hard to stop them. Led by their big in Lily Bottomley Lily Bottomley 6'2" | C Northwest | 2023 State OH with 23 pts and Ashley Cudnik 13 pts & Carley Spradling 12pts lead the way.
Stow (21-2) has been playing some good team basketball they kept their momentum going from the end of the regular season to the sectional play with steals and hitting the three-ball multiple times they were able to pull out victorious against a good lake team, with more scoring down the stretch stow was able to come out with the win and the play from Kristen Chmielewski 20 pts and Alaina Ray 12 pts and Anna Hurst Anna Hurst 5'9" | CG Stow-Munroe Falls | 2024 OH 10 pts.
Norton (18-5) didn’t stop playing from start to finish, they are taking it game by game any given play anyone can lead them to a win, they play hard every second that’s what you want out of a senior group of players who are looking to keep their season going. They know what it takes and they will get it done. They play good inside and out led by Gabby Destafano 13 pts and Morgan Hallet 12 pts
Cvca (18-5) they played with speed and poise they were able to get steals, gang rebound and push the ball in transition to get easy layups, with their guard play getting everyone involved they should be able to rolling in the next few rounds. Hitting shots from outside scoring in the paint, they are peaking at the right time, Led by Hadley Hajdu Hadley Hajdu 5'8" | SG Revere | 2024 State OH with 14pts, Gia Casalinova Gia Casalinova 5'7" | CG Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy | 2023 State OH 13 pts
Copley (13-10) imposed themselves early against Beechwood, getting up and down the court, hitting three pointers, getting to the basketball in a team effort, ramped up the rebounds by outrebounding their opponent by 28, they were able to get their hands on a lot of deflections, steals to be able to turn those into transition points. With a lot players that can score at any given second the Indians are looking to continue that success led by Victoria McKnight Victoria McKnight 5'10" | CG Copley | 2023 State OH with 11 pts and Kami Ayoup 12 pts.
Gates Mill Hawken (16-6) played like they suppose too shot the ball well from around the key, play tough defense and getting a ton of rebounds, players passed the ball to the open player for the shot, they always make the extra pass to the open player good team basketball.
