Rankings Update: 2023 Top Point Guards
The 2023 class is wing heavy and many of the guards are combos. There is still high level talent at the point guard position, here’s a look at the top six in the class.
[player_tooltip player_id="163910" first="Kameryn" last="Dorsey"] - 5’6" - St. Frances

Kameryn can affect games without scoring but has showed many times that she is more than capable of filling the stat sheet. She plays at an up tempo pace forcing the opposition to exert energy and play hard on both ends.
[player_tooltip player_id="325274" first="Zanai" last="Barnett"] - 5’8" - Riverdale Baptist

Zanai has spent most of her career as the scoring option at the two but with the transfer to the Crusaders the competition level has risen and she has taken control. Her scoring output has dropped from previous years but her value has increased at one of the most sought after positions on the floor.
[player_tooltip player_id="142838" first="Channing" last="Williams"] - 5’4" - New Hope Academy
Channing has been the point her entire life and is very experienced at the position. She has played on top 10 nationally ranked teams her whole career and has played with and against multiple all-American’s. She can be a day one player at the right college program.
[player_tooltip player_id="142840" first="Cassidy" last="Mahaney"] - 5’7" - Holy Cross
Cassidy can light it up from beyond the arc if left open. She has a quick release and can shoot on the move. She is a good passer and could thrive in a high level program where she doesn’t have to carry the scoring load herself.
[player_tooltip player_id="142842" first="Grace" last="McMahon"] - 5’4’ - St. James
Grace had the point guard position clicking as a freshman. Watching her drop pocket passes in the lane through traffic, I knew she had something special. She should look to be the leader heading into this summer and her senior year which could really boost her stock.
[player_tooltip player_id="389428" first="Brooke" last="Scott"] - 5’2" - Takoma Academy

Brooke is a high IQ point guard that has a play hard attitude no matter the score of the game. She has a good mid-range shot and passes well in transition. She doesn't shy away from contact despite her size getting to the line and finishing the play.
