Region I Maci Neely, Cameron, G, Fr., 5-7 - Though a lot of Cameron’s offense runs through 6-foot-3 center [player_tooltip player_id="379498" first="Ashlynn" last="Van Tassell"], Neely’s able to make a mark on both ends of the floor. Things may seem a little rough for the freshman, but she stays upbeat. She enjoys running around the court and staying active on offense. She catches teams off guard with her ability to move and see where plays are headed. She’s similar to a battery in that she rarely tires on the floor. Lauren Templeton, Tyler Consolidated, F, Sr., 5-8 - Defenses just can’t stay away from the Silver Knights’ Lauren Templeton. They’re guarding her - at all times. On the 3-point line, in the paint, or in transition there’s always someone following her. Of course, it’s for good reason. Possessing multiple scoring abilities, Templeton couples her big heart with a bigger game. Region II Alyson Streets, Union, Post, Sr., 5-10 - Alyson Streets brings a rarely seen post-game to the floor. She’s powerful around the rim with her scoring and rebounding. Yet, her defense stands out, too. Not just a little bit. She’s thrust into big situations and looks just fine. Kendal Cutright, Tygarts Valley, SG, Sr., 5-7 - Tygarts Valley’s senior shooting guard is a baller - no matter when, where, or why. Just when teams think they have her figured out, she reveals something new. She really takes the game of basketball seriously. Give her any task and she’ll complete it. Ask her to shoot a 3 ... done. Guard a tough player ... no problem. Lead the team in scoring or taking pressure off leading scorer Bridgette Knapp ... done. She’ll do it all. Region III Natalie Snyder, Webster County, SF, Sr., 5-7 - Snyder definitely knows her way around the post. There's no doubt about it. Nothing about that section of the hardwood surprises or frightens her. Sure, that could be hard to believe for someone who stands at 5-foot-7. Watch her for a few minutes though and it all becomes clear. You simply aren't escaping anything she does on defense or offense. She benefits from some great entry passes and is a dependable finisher around the rim. Her size and length allow her to tip passes and pull-down easy boards. Abigail Thomas, Greenbrier West, G, Fr., 5-4 - Thomas quickly learns. She's comfortable breaking down defenses and offenses in a very short time. Traps, zones, man-to-man, open lanes or anything else, she's going to find them and take advantage of them. That could mean a mid-range jumper from inside the arc or firing a pass to one of her teammates. Region IV Emma Taylor, Gilmer County, SG, Sr., 5-7 - Emma Taylor fears nothing on the basketball court. Absolutely nothing. With a big deficit staring her in the face, she laughs. If she needs to lead the Titans in scoring, she’ll do it. If she needs to can eight 3s while being a reliable ballhandler, she’ll do that too. There’s no tripping her up. Savannah Cunningham, Calhoun County, PG, Sr., 5-4 - Savannah Cunningham knows how to play point guard. Oh yes. She’s comfortable in the role. She loves leadership. She executes her job well. There’s nothing more to say about this hardworking young lady. If you still need a hard slashing, downhill point guard, she’s a great option.
