The Legacy Early College Lady Lions finished the season in North Myrtle Beach at the USA National Prep Basketball Championships this weekend. The Lady Lions went (3-0) to finish the season at (25-5) while claiming the championship. The Lady Lions defeated Quality Education Academy (NC) 54-32. Let’s dive into some of the coverage right here on your source for girls basketball in the Palmetto State. Freshman Takes Home Top Honor [player_tooltip player_id="176612" first="Zhykera" last="Brown"] is just a freshman for the Legacy Early College Lady Lions. Brown was able to connect from the perimeter or getting down-hill to the basket. Zhykera is certainly a Top 3 player in the 2025 Palmetto State Class (Hint, Hint) when the rankings debut sometime this month. Brown plays the game so mature for her age with her timely one-handed passes and her ability to finish at the cup with her left-hand. Fond Farewell for Brooks [player_tooltip player_id="137233" first="Savannah" last="Brooks"] played just one season for the Lady Lions after moving down from the State of Maryland. Brooks went over 1,000 career points this past weekend for her school career. Savannah mustered 11 points in her last game for the Lions today. She has no problems jumping on the floor for loose ball or taking a charge on the defensive end of the floor. Key Members for Lady Lions [player_tooltip player_id="172056" first="Kimyah" last="Foggie"], [player_tooltip player_id="194863" first="Kamya" last="Hatten"] and [player_tooltip player_id="176614" first="Trinity" last="Vance"] all played vital roles in the Lady Lions victory today. Foggie finished with 7 points while drawing a few charges today. Kimyah is a high energy kid who really brought a spark to the lineup at times today. Hatten is just a mismatch in the paint with her ability to do some of the little things to help teams win games. Kamya scored just 4 points but came up with some timely rebounds especially out of her area along with her blue-collar mindset on the floor. Hatten really understands how to use her body well to fight off defenders. Kamya has great nose for the ball and the ability to rebound out of her area. Vance is a savvy and crafty guard who finished with 7 points in the win. Trinity has a good basketball feel and ability to set-up her teammates while sacrificing her game at times. Vance is just a sophomore and already has landed some NCAA D1 offers. These 3 ladies all played important roles in helping the Lady Lions prevail to the USA National Prep Championship today in North Myrtle Beach. Lady Pharaohs Cap Off Career [player_tooltip player_id="116901" first="Raven" last="Preston"] and [player_tooltip player_id="396915" first="Millayna" last="Redd"] left it all on the floor for the Quality Education Academy squad today. Preston and Redd both finished with 10 points in the loss. Preston will play at nearby Elon University next season. Raven logged a lot of minutes, and it seems like she never left the floor. Raven was able to penetrate-kick at times while rebounding the ball well from the backcourt. Redd is TOUGHER than a $2 dollar steak. Millayna NEVER gave up on a play and wasn’t afraid to her sacrifice her body and take a charge it seemed like on command. She showed a feisty and competitive edge all game long. Redd was very vocal at all times on the floor and maintained a willingness to compete. Millayna was able to connect on some perimeter jumpers today. Whatever college lands her services they will be getting a WINNER!!! ** It was extremely exciting for me watching these teams play with the passion they brought to the floor today. Extremely NO LACK of effort here today at all. Highly entertaining game to say the least.
