Hatten has worn many colors throughout her high school career and is looking to conclude said career with a 3A state championship with Southside. She had a 14-point performance in a matchup where the Tigers defeated Chapman by a score of 48-31 – a closer margin than what some may have predicted. Hatten made many a move towards the rim that was hard to contain for the Panthers’ defense. She bolsters the Tigers’ rebounding capabilities and can create additional Southside possessions with her ability to corral steals. She has been a key factor in why coach Milton Parks’ Tigers have started the 2022-23 season undefeated as of the conclusion of Wednesday’s play.

Hatten’s noteworthy career has taken her to 4A Westside as well as with the Lions of Legacy Early College. Now, she is part of a 3A Southside bunch that is looking once again like one of the teams to beat regardless of class. Hatten stands at 5-foot-11 and can play as either a small forward or a power forward. She is already averaging 12.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.2 steals and 3.3 assists per contest, giving coach Milton Parks’ Tigers assembling frontcourt depth. She played with FBC Carolina Elite Hawks 17U during her final travel campaign this past spring and summer.

Hatten made the move over to the Lady Tigers this off season from Legacy Early College. Kamya is a bit of a mismatch at times with her ability to play both forward positions. She never backs down from a challenge and she has a very good skill set. Kamya can handle the rock up the floor in transition and finish on the breakthrough contact. She will look to connect on some short jumpers from the corners.

Hatten left Legacy Early College to come over to Southside HS this past season. Kamya has a great touch around the cup and soft hands. She has no problems taking the rock coast to coast at times and finishing on the other end.
Hatten finished plays on both ends when it came to scoring the rock or claiming a rebound off the glass. Kamya battles through contact and traffic to pick up a rebound while keeping it high.

Hatten is another of the many standouts that have coach Parks’ Tigers in contention to be one of the teams to beat in 2022-23 3A play. She is transferring away from Legacy Early College and to Southside a year after the Tigers made an appearance in the 3A Upper State Finals. Hatten stands at six feet even and plays primarily at the four. She will be a great compliment in the Southside backcourt to fellow veteran big Thompson. She is active at claiming rebounds on either the defensive end or the offensive side and those offensive boards can turn into two-point putbacks.
