continues to improve, and her best basketball is still ahead of her. She’s already a college ready defender as she’s tremendous on the ball. Quick feet and strong, she can guard multiple positions. Plays really hard; great pursuit of 50/50 balls. Makes winning plays. Offensively is at her best when she’s able to get out in transition, or downhill attacking a lane. Really tough when she gets a full head of steam. Finishes well with both hands, and off 1 or 2 feet.

I’ve always enjoyed watching Tanner play as she takes pride in doing all the little things, and helps across the box score. Coach Hensley called her an “athletic guard that gets in passing lanes, and is really good getting to the rim.” If she can add a consistent three point shot to her game, she could be primed for a huge senior season.

Tamiah is a tough guard who can defend multiple positions, and score at multiple levels. She’s an athlete, and she thrives in transition and off steals. Her defense rattles opponents, and she knows how to use her speed and strength to score. We look to be fast in transition, and it starts with her. I expect her to execute offensively with plays, and our defensive strategies this season.

Just a really well-rounded player. It’s obvious that she’s been extremely well coached, especially on the defensive end. She can guard multiple positions: quick enough to stay in front of guards but strong enough to battle for spots. Put up a 10 point 7 rebound game (with 2 made threes) is exactly what you get from Tamiah Tanner–a complete player that helps winning in a multitude of ways.

Tanner has played terrific basketball for Cleveland off the bench this season. Game after game, she finds a way to impact winning with her high effort and energy. She fit some big time perimeter shots versus Bradley and finished the night with 9 points. Her defense and rebounding made it really hard to take off the floor.

Tanner was HUGE in the 4th quarter. She knocked down a three breaking a tie ball game, and the following possession she pulled an offensive rebound gaining a huge extra possession with time winding down. Tanner is an “x factor” for this team as they are still looking for consistent scorers. If Tanner can continue to play outstanding defense, and beginning hitting shot from the perimeter with a bit more consistency, she has a chance to be very good. Really nice set of intangibles.
