July has begun! We’ve had some huge events take place already: Nike TOC, Run 4 The Roses, Hoosier Heat, UAA Session II, War Games Midwest, East Coast Summer, PGH 2K22, and many more! I wanted to give a Recruiting Trail Update with the first half of July and the first Eval Period over as those offers are coming out left and right. Not everyone posts their offers as it is their right to keep that information private, or they can post it online if they choose which is where I’ve pulled most of this info from. The second half of July is about to be wild! Here are some names who’ve received offers in Florida so far:
2023
[player_tooltip player_id="91645" first="Kailani" last="Lindsey"] - Army, Stetson
Kailani is not a new name on the scene in Florida. She is the reigning 1A PoY and is playing very well this summer for CFE. You would be hard-pressed to find many better true posts in the state. Every time she steps on the court, she’a a threat for a double double with her footwork, strength, and agile/mobile frame. The two new offers above join her recent offers from UNCW, College of Charleston, Kennesaw State, Eastern Kentucky, and Hampton.
[player_tooltip player_id="156588" first="Khyala" last="Ngodu"] - Clemson, Southern Miss, Grand Canyon, Jacksonville, Stony Brook, FAU, Georgia Southern, FIU, San Jose State, Arkansas State
Another true post and the hottest recruit in Florida has ten offers since July has started! Khyala led Nike Nationals in rebounds per game (9.3) and blocks per game (2). She also was 3rd in steals with 2.3 per game, so it’s no shocker that she is getting even more big time offers. The ten above offers join her June offers of UCF, George Mason, Seton Hall, George Washington, UNF, Morgan State, Delaware, Austin Peay, and Delaware.
[player_tooltip player_id="166168" first="Hannah" last="Kohn"] - Chattanooga, Campbell
Hannah is one of the best shooters in the state, and she’s made some significant strides in her ability to create her own shot with little space needed. Everyone outside of Florida knows her as the girl who hit 19 three’s in one game, but her game goes beyond her shooting. Last week, she participated in the 3SSB All-American Camp. And last month, she received her first offer from George Mason.
[player_tooltip player_id="166170" first="Alonya" last="Waldon"] - Jacksonville State, Delaware, Marshall, UNCG, Sacred Heart
I have always been a fan of Alonya’s game - she is a DAWG! Alonya is a high motor kid that defends hard and can score it from all three levels. She already had an offer from Lipscomb, and it’s good to see her hard work is paying off and being recognized with the number of offers she’s received this month. The 2023 guard was named to the Elite 40 League All-Tournament Team (Second Team) this month as well. She’s a true leader on and off the court.
[player_tooltip player_id="247118" first="Sophia" last="Rueppell"] - Vermont, Marshall
Sophia is another ECU recruit that has burst onto more college radars this summer. The two most recent offers join Appalachian State University, Austin Peay, Samford, and College of Charleston from June as well as others she’s received previously. Her ability to shoot it, see the floor, and knowledge of the game is what makes her so recruitable. The offers aren’t done coming in for her.
[player_tooltip player_id="245281" first="Cori" last="Allen"] - West Virginia, Houston
Cori plays her AAU ball with TN Flight and her school ball with Montverde. She has a strong frame and is really hard to stop when she’s going downhill and in transition. Her two-way game is some of the best in the country. The two latest offers join Illinois from earlier this year as well at Rutgers, Miami, Xavier, Memphis, Arizona, Georgia Tech, Auburn, Florida, Notre Dame, Virginia and others.
[player_tooltip player_id="166160" first="Kaylah" last="Turner"] - Seton Hall, Eastern Kentucky
You won’t find many players that are as quick as Kaylah with her explosive first step. She’s a true PG with a big motor, good handles, and a smooth jumper. Her two July offers join Navy, Bethune-Cookman, Alabama A&M, UNF, Colgate, FAMU, South Alabama, and Pensacola State (JUCO). On that note, Kaylah has offers from both D1 HBCU’s in Florida as well as another southeast HBCU with Alabama A&M.
[player_tooltip player_id="460873" first="Michelle" last="Ugwah"] - George Mason, FAU
Michelle is a new name to Florida, but not to the basketball world. She transferred from Bella Vista Prep in AZ to DME and was just cleared from her ACL injury days before the early July Eval Period. Before she came to the states, she played on the Irish National Team. The Forward does a great job of attacking the rim on offense and protecting the paint on defense. Look for her to get a lot more interest in the last half of July.
2024
[player_tooltip player_id="331745" first="Eris" last="Lester"] - Bethune-Cookman, Monmouth
Eris is a tremendous athlete with a high motor and great elevation on her jumper. She has nice handles and keeps her dribble low to the ground when changing direction with intention. For a guard, she rebounds it so well with those bunnies she has. Her two latest offers join UNF, Navy, Jacksonville University, and FAU.
[player_tooltip player_id="434911" first="Vivian" last="Iwuchukwu"] - Kansas, Texas A&M
Vivian is a top 100 player in the country in the 2024 class for good reason. She can finish in traffic with a strong, long frame and makes her presence known on the interior with blocked shots and crashing the boards with her athleticism. Her invite to the 3SSB All-American Camp just further proves how elite her game is. If you still aren’t convinced, here are her prior offers: Mississippi State, UCF, Clemson, Columbia, Loyola Marymount, Kentucky, Florida State, Georgia, Auburn, USC, TCU, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Georgia Tech, Northeastern, UTSA, Houston, SMU, Ole Miss, and Lamar.
2025
[player_tooltip player_id="248447" first="Sofia" last="Munoz"] - Marshall, UAB
Sofia played on the Puerto Rico National Team this summer in Argentina and is easily one of the best 2025’s in the state. Her play-making abilities are always on display with her filthy crossover, step-back, and ability to penetrate and dish. Once she gets towards the basket, she is so difficult to defend with her speed and finishing ability. I’m always impressed with her court vision and basketball IQ at such a young age. She’s not afraid to dive on the floor either. She will absolutely start raking up offers like the two she got this month in the near future.

[player_tooltip player_id="243895" first="Lena" last="Girardi"] - Pitt, Manhattan

Lena does not look like a 2025 when she is on the court. Her game has so much confidence, poise, and her size and skill are high-level. She is the most versatile player in her class in Florida with a big motor and ability to score it in bunches. She’s another 2025 that will continue to get a lot of attentions and offers as a highly recruitable kid who already holds an offer from Villanova.
