It had been a while since Taylor Day-Davis had scored in double-digits, but she finally got back over the hump at the right time.
Day-Davis was active on the offensive end right out of the gate, finishing the night with 15 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 blocks. She also had not recorded a double-double in nearly a month.
The senior is an excellent 3-point shooter who can get going quickly, which is exactly what happened. She scored 3 triples on the night, helping the Tigers spread out their offense. Day-Davis was not finding her stroke in the paint, but she was taking advantage of opportunities at the charity stripe.
Day-Davis’ work on the other side of the ball helped Central come away with the victory. Without her defensive rebounding, Conway would have been in a better situation to score off putbacks, which they do regularly. She also made nice passes, setting up her teammates either in transition or down low.
Taylor Day-Davis, one of Central’s team leaders continued to show her worth on Friday. She played hard on both sides of the ball, continuing to prove that she is one of the best two-way players in the conference.

Taylor Day-Davis was the lone double-digit scorer for the Lady Tigers, and this game marked her 6th-straight double-digit scoring performance of the year.
Day-Davis finished with 10 points, with her best production coming in the second half. After missing three triples in the first half, the forward improved her totals by nailing a couple of threes in the third quarter.
Throughout the game, Day-Davis played excellent defense. She finished with 3 steals and 1 block. She jumped ahead and stole lazy passes, and when Jonesboro managed to get the ball inside, she played physical post defense.
Taylor Day-Davis continues to impress in her final season with the Lady Tigers. I would be shocked if she finishes with under 10 points in any other conference game this season.

Taylor Day-Davis always seems to find her way into double-digits in the scoring category.
The senior had 10 points to go along with 4 rebounds and a steal. She was 2/3 from beyond the arch, but she started out 2/2. Once she has a good look from outside, she will not hesitate to take the shot. She is lethal off the catch.
Day-Davis was perfect from the free throw line as well. She is one of the more consistent free throw shooters on the team, as well as one of the stronger defenders, not letting much get past her.
Taylor Day-Davis has yet to score in single-digits in conference play this season. Her inside-outside scoring consistency should be hard to ignore for college teams.

Central does not hang around in the second half without the play of Taylor Day-Davis.
The senior forward put up a team-high 20 points, including 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block. Most of her scoring came from the mid-range area. Whenever she received the ball around the free throw line, it was a Bar-B-Q chicken alert! It seemed like Day-Davis was 100% from the mid-range and high post areas (she might have missed 1 but she still shot with incredible efficiency), but she was able to score in other ways.
Day-Davis knocked down an important open triple during the third quarter, which was a crucial part of a run Central had been on. She was also one of the few consistent Tigers at the free throw line.
Taylor Day-Davis took over, especially in that fourth quarter, but it was still not enough. Regardless, Coach Marlon Williams and crew can be confident in Day-Davis’ ability to create and hit shots in crunch time.

Taylor Day-Davis had that strong first half, and even though she was one of the players who went cold in the third quarter, she bounced out of it and made a tremendous impact for her team.
Day-Davis scored 11 points to go along with 9 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. The senior never seizes to play the right way for the Tigers. The officials were letting both teams play, so most of Day-Davis’ shot attempts were heavily contested and she was usually being hacked every time she went up.
Day-Davis is a very consistent offensive player, but her performances on the glass are even more consistent. She uses her 5’10” athletic frame to leap to the glass, and she is just stronger than everyone else on the floor.
Taylor Day-Davis showed that she can break out of a shooting slump mid-game, but even if the shots are not falling, she can still have a large impact for her team.

Taylor Day-Davis decided to join in on the fun in that first quarter, heating up from outside as well. Between her and Wilson, there was no way Bryant was going to be able to stop them.
The senior finished her night with another double-double. She posted 18 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. Like Wilson, Day-Davis finished the night with more than 1 triple, knocking down her first 3 triples in the opening half, and her final three in the fourth quarter. She went 4/7 from outside on the night.
Day-Davis showed off some solid shot-creation ability on her first 3-pointer, as she hit the defense with a filthy step-back.
Her other scoring came from inside and from the free throw line. Day-Davis pulled down 3 offensive rebounds, and she was fouled as soon as she went back up. At the line, the senior cashed in on the free shots.
Taylor Day-Davis is an animal on the interior, but she showed everyone that she can heat up from outside. With the perimeter shot becoming a consistent part of her offense, the rest of the 6A central should be shaking in their boots.

Taylor Day-Davis has been impressive all season long, and she was perhaps the most efficient Tiger in last night’s game. Whether it was on offense or defense, Day-Davis was making plays through all 4 quarters for her team.
Day-Davis finished the evening with 13 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block. She was able to score inside, outside, and from mid-range. She hit two mid-range jumpers with a high level of difficulty due to the tight defense. Day-Davis had a couple of looks from beyond the arch, cashing in on one. From the interior, the senior was using her strength to move defenders around, absorbing contact as she went up as well.
Outside of 2 offensive boards, all of her other rebounds were on the defensive side. North Little Rock was able to grab several offensive rebounds, but every time Day-Davis was in the paint, she put a stop to that. Day-Davis is a good ball-handler, so once she pulls down the board, she can start the fastbreak and initiate the offense.
Taylor Day-Davis is an elite two-way player, and Little Rock Central would not have been able to win this game if it was not for her.

Taylor Day-Davis was the leading scorer of the game for the Lady Tigers with 18 points. Not only an effective scorer, she also made plays on the backboard and on the defensive end.
Day-Davis was extremely physical on both ends against Vilonia, and she asserted herself with her strength and active hands. She recorded 5 steals on the night to go along with 5 rebounds. She was doing a great job defending on the wing, and when Central’s starting center fell into some foul trouble, she was inserted into the center position and played well.
Most of Day-Davis’ offense came in the paint. She hit a couple short jumpers and runners, but she was a bully in the paint. She also went to the free throw line and was 5/7 on the game, with several of those shots coming in the clutch. Day-Davis did knock down one 3-pointer, but when her shot was not falling from the outside, she decided to get her teammates involved, adding 2 assists to her statline.
Taylor Day-Davis did not shoot as well as what most of the state would expect from her, but she still managed to take over when she needed to. It was clear that Vilonia’s main defensive plan was to stop her, but clearly, they failed, as will be the result of most other teams when they face her this season.
