Not far from the Kentucky border, girls in this city have been putting in work. Over the past couple of years, this city has transformed itself into a major women’s basketball stop, where prospects have gone on to compete at various universities across the country. Crazy thing is, there are more girls coming down the pipeline that will be some big time student athletes for years to come.
The city of Clarksville, is growing by the day. The girls who rep this city, are consistently in the gym, working on their craft. They are hungry to make a name for themselves. They are willing to go compete whenever and wherever, doesn’t matter the event. Big or small, someone from the 931 area code will be in the building showing those in attendance what Clarksville basketball is all about. Ladies and gentlemen, here are your 2022 City Rankings from Clarksville, Tennessee.
Imari Berry Imari Berry 5'10" | SG Clarksville | 2024 State TN ( 5’11/ CG/ Jr./ Clarksville)– Dynamic scoring threat from anywhere on the floor. This special talent is getting offered by the boatload. UCONN, Tennessee, South Carolina, you name it. Love how she uses her length to exploit her opponents weakness. Two-way player who gets it done on both ends of the floor. She could easily be a triple double player any night of the week. Exciting kid who has tremendous upside.
Lauren Hassell Lauren Hassell 6'2" | PF Clarksville Christian | 2027 TN ( 6’3/ F/ 8th Grade/ Clarksville Christian)– Wow. Another dynamic player who can do it all at a young age. Rises to the occasion, plays against tough competition older than her and excels at it. Can get it done in multiple ways. Can knock down clutch shots on all levels. Can handle the ball against pressure, makes timely assists, owns the boards. Great young prospect with huge upside.
Torri James Torri James 5'11" | PF Rossview | 2024 State TN (5’11/ PF/ Jr./ Rossview)– Starting to come into her own as she approaches her junior year. Has tons of potential, is a nice mid-range threat on the offensive end. Moves well, block to block in the paint. Plays big time on the defensive end. Blocks shots, collects boards, runs the floor well.
Atyia Moss Atyia Moss 5'8" | PG Clarksville Academy | 2023 State TN (5’8/ CG/ Sr./ Clarksville Academy)– Awesome guard who can handle the rock. Can play the 1 or the 2. She can get to the rim, knock down the mid-range J, and launch it from deep. Has a great basketball IQ, sees the floor well. Understands the game at a high level. Knows how to read a defense and exploits their weakness. Exciting prospect that is a game changer.
Emiyah Cobb Emiyah Cobb 5'10" | CG Clarksville Northwest | 2023 State TN (5’10/ CG/ Sr. / Clarksville Northwest)– Exciting guard who is incredible with the ball in her hands. Can get to the rack, knock down the mid-range, slash through defenses to draw defenders, opening up opportunities on the outside. Tough defender who makes life crazy for her opponent.
Shinae Johnson Shinae Johnson 5'6" | PG Clarksville Academy | 2024 State TN (5’5/ PG/ Jr./ Clarksville Academy)- Super tough kid that uses her speed as one of her strengths. Can get to the rim, finishing against contact. Incredible in the open court, she’s a team player who facilitates the ball well. Great on the defensive end, she is going to lock up her opponent the full length of the floor.
Nevaeh Brooks (5’3/ G/ So./ Clarksville)– Scoring guard who can knock down shots from beyond the arc consistently. Can put the ball on the floor and pull up. Has a nice J, where she isn’t shy to unleash it from the catch and shoot position.
Malon Smith Malon Smith 5'6" | CG Clarksville | 2025 State TN (5’5/ G/ So./ Clarksville)– Heady player who contributes in multiple statistical categories. Still early in her high school career, she is going to step up to any challenge she faces. Anticipates well, she is looking to hunt on the defensive end, while offensively, she is looking to break her opponent down to exploit gaps to knock down her mid-range shot. Has great upside and will continue to grow.
Savannah Prather Savannah Prather 5'11" | PF Clarksville Academy | 2023 State TN (5’11/ PF/ Sr./ Clarksville Academy)– Stretch 4 who works well in the mid-range area. Exceptional in the pick and roll game, can play with her back to the basket and contribute on the boards on both ends. Can knock down the occasional 3 ball, stretching the floor for her club. Can handle the ball and pass effectively.
Jada Brooks (5’5/ G/ Sr./ Clarksville Northwest)– Exciting player with the ball in her hands. She is the A.I. of the city, launching shots from beyond the 3pt line. Can get to the rim, facilitate for teammates with ease. Plays the game fast. Plays well on the defensive end, providing exciting moments throughout the course of the game.
Iyanna Curtis (5’9/ F/ Sr./ Kenwood)- Lanky forward who has a motor on her. A slasher who can finish at the rim against contact. Plays the game with speed, where she is an exceptional two-way player. Quick hands, quick feet, she is looking to create turnovers that lead to easy buckets in transition.
Cetera Warren (6’2/ C/ Sr./ Clarksville Academy)– Big post player that has improved year after year.Can score the ball in the painted area, capitalizes on grabbing boards and putting the ball back up. Anchor in the middle, establishes herself and makes her presence known on both ends of the floor.
Marley Spiers Marley Spiers 6'3" | C Clarksville Christian | 2027 TN (6’2/ C/ 8th Grade/ Clarksville Christian)– Young stud who can score the ball down low. She’s on this list because she is an exceptional talent at a young age. She will be a household name for years to come as she continues to develop into an exciting prospect. Two-way player who is a bucket.
Aubrey Padgett (5’7/ SG/ Sr./ Rossview)– Sweet guard who can score the rock. Has a nice release, where she will knock down shots from beyond the arc. Contributes in multiple categories, she is a heady player who looks to do the little things right.
Sicily Robinson (5’5/ G/ Fr./ Clarksville Academy)– Exciting young prospect that has a lot of upside. A gym rat who is eager to prove herself on the basketball floor. Scrappy guard who can get to the rim, knock down shots from various places on the floor, and isn’t afraid to go toe to toe with any team. Fierce competitor who will be taking her game to the next level.
