Continue ReadingThis is the fourth installment of a series about updated 2020 rankings featuring players who either might not be the centers of attention, are under the radar, and/or lower ranked players whose game is needing a little more development than others. Players included must be players whom I am aware of their summer club involvement.
The first refresh of the Kansas site’s rankings since it’s January launch occurred a couple weeks ago. The refresh grew my list of ranked players to 107. Inclusion in this article are wing players who play inside.
#31 Elisabeth Crawford, 5’9″, Shawnee Mission South, Next Level Eclipse – Crawford can score creatively with either hand around the basket including using a nice baby hook. She shows good footwork using a reverse pivot on the dribble drive and is able to finish athletically with either hand. Crawford has a solid mid-range jumper and shows instinct and toughness to draw offensive fouls on the interior.
#77 Chariah Daniels, 5’10”, Wichita Southeast, BGCB 17U – While Daniels has often played center and power forward, at the next level her build and game would most likely have her working as a wing or small forward. Daniels has a knack for being around the ball to gather defensive rebounds and is a solid free throw shooter. She was featured in an earlier Prospect Focus article and was a Wichita City League honorable mention selection in 2019.
#32 Riley Wade, 5’9″, Olathe Northwest, Next Level Eclipse – Wade has shown outstanding ability to catch, move without the ball, and recognize necessary spacing adjustment on the perimeter. She finishes in traffic well off the cut and catch and uses her awareness of her slashing abilities to set up her three point shot.
#37 Emma Ruddle, 5’8″, McPherson, Wheat State Elite Kansas Chaos – Ruddle has a great motor and does many things well. She is fast, elevates well on her jumper, has three point range, is a strong rebounder, and is aggressive on both ends of the floor. In 2019 she was a Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Div III (ACTVL) honorable mention selection. She has committed to Fort Hays State University.
#52 Andrea Sweat, 6’1″, McPherson, Wheat State Elite Kansas Chaos – Sweat has good transition speed and is a three point threat. With her length and quickness she is able to play the two through four positions but physically does not match up well with opposing forwards.
