In front of coaches from more than two dozen NCAA Div II, NAIA, Juco, and NCCAA programs players worked through an hour of station work. Following station work the teams squared off for three back-to-back-back games. Below is look at a few down-the-ranks players from the 2025 class who had strong days. Several players were previously highlighted in my look at players raising their stock from the ‘23 and ’24 classes.
Alisabeth Barton Alisabeth Barton 5'6" | PG Colby | 2025 State KS , 5’4″, PG, Colby (KS), Magic Basketball – I saw Barton play in the early summer but in one play she summed up two terrific abilities: Quick hands and finishing challenged shots. CJ Rignell CJ Rignell 5'7" | PG Riley County | 2023 State KS was picking up a head of steam to split two staggered defenders in the middle of the back court. She made a quick, strong right-to-left crossover move to go by the first player (Barton) but all she bounced with her left hand was air. Barton picked it mid-cross. Barton put that grab on the floor and four steps later finished against two players challenging her.
Vanessa Coleman Vanessa Coleman 5'10" | SF Tulsa Union | 2025 State OK , 5’10”, SG, Tulsa Union (OK), EYG – Coleman showed transition smarts to slow briefly off a steal to survey the floor, finishing ability with her left over two defenders, strength to tie up a driver by grabbing the ball, and the ability to can the top of the key three off a kick-out. Smartly brings the ball up on the finish. Liked her speed with the ball, athleticism, and smooth release off the perimeter catch.
Kennadi Jackson Kennadi Jackson 5'9" | CG Wichita Heights | 2025 State KS , 5’9″, PG, Wichita Heights (KS), SSA Gameball Basketball – I saw what I have been hearing about Jackson, explosiveness. I also saw defensive smarts to drop into the lane and get her hands up after the ball handler she was guarding passed to the low wing and dropped to screen. The next pass went immediately toward a player flashing to the ball across the lane. Jackson deflected the ball, gathered it, and took off. End-to-end speed with the ball, reading the transition defense setting up in the half-court, and attacking a weak spot was impressive. Showed good ability to finish with either hand while getting clobbered in the process. Yes she’s already ranked in the ten spot but there is strong potential to climb higher. She quickly generated recruitment interest among the coaches.
