Jocelyn Schiller Jocelyn Schiller 5'7" | PG Grand Forks Red River | 2024 State ND – Grand Forks Red River- (5’7/PG/2024) – Gifted athlete! averaged over 20 points and 5 assists a game. All state selection who shot over 40% a contest. Defensive awareness of a D2 athlete. Rarely makes mistakes and her game is never rushed. Schiller is an all-around beast who understand the game of basketball at a very high level. She returns on a hungry Red River squad that’ll look to push a top 3 State finish this year. I could go on and on about this athlete, but to keep it simple. Jocelyn Schiller Jocelyn Schiller 5'7" | PG Grand Forks Red River | 2024 State ND s is a high energy, leader on the court that can flat out score and defend the basketball for 32 minutes a night. It’s going to be insightful watching her go to work this year.
Ashton Safranski Ashton Safranski 5'7" | PG Fargo Davies | 2024 State ND – Fargo Davies – (5’6/PG/2024) – The top cookie monster from last year averaging over 5 steals a contest is back! A hard nosed on the ball defender as well a wolf amongst sheep when it comes to picking off the ball in the half and full court. When they said big things come in small packages Ashton is what they were referring too. A solid all around player that doesn’t force the issue offensively being patient with the ball in her hand. I think Safranski is a wild card the Davies need this year. She’s quick, got good decision making skills and will lead this team through some tough matches this year. Ashton is someone to keep your eyes on this year.
Brynn McNeally Brynn McNeally 5'7" | PG Fargo Shanley | 2024 State ND – Fargo Shanley – (5’7/PG/2024) – A dark horse if you will compared to her counterparts on this list Brynn is an interesting player. Limited to minutes last year she made the most of what she was given. McNeally showed great signs of progress and glimpses of what’s to come possibly. Last year she dropped 16 points and 6 assists against Fargo North shooting 4 of 6 from the 3 point line. Smart and decisive is how I would describe Brynn’s play style. Not a player that is going to wow the crowd, but not one that’s going to hurt your team either. Keep your eyes pealed for this potential athlete this year. She could make some noise before her senior year.
Brylie Peterson Brylie Peterson 5'6" | PG West Fargo | 2024 State ND – West Fargo – (5’6/PG/2024) – A physical guard that appears to be very coachable. Offensively and defensively gifted with tangibles of pure hustle and hard work. A guard that will set screens, dive for loose balls, take a charge and at the same time ask for more to do. A fairly high IQ on the game and another player on this list that isn’t going to hurt your team, but add to it’s culture and dynamics. For all my college coaches out there this is a kid that will invest all she has into your program and then some. Brylie Peterson Brylie Peterson 5'6" | PG West Fargo | 2024 State ND is a must watch for this year.
Drew Portratz – Valley City – (5’4/PG/2024) – Drew Portratz. Another dark horse athlete that isn’t mentioned enough, but made a small amount of noise last year. Averaged 6 points 2 rebounds a game last year off descent minutes. A solid off the screen shooter that if left open or uncontested is going to hurt you. Doesn’t force shots and understands what her role is on the team. Can create for the offensive, but in my opinion is an undersized 2 guard the way she plays passively. Drew will be an interesting watch this year as we’ll get to see the many improvements that she’s added to her game.
