With the new rankings out, it is apparent that the talent at the forward position is plentiful. In this article, we look at some of the 2026 power forwards around the State of Florida who will be very impactful in High School Basketball this upcoming season.

[player_tooltip player_id='514589' first='Senaia' last='Asanya'] / 6'0 PF/ C / Piedmont Lakes / PGH # 169

Asanya had some classic matchups against 2025 [player_tooltip player_id='346836' first='McKenzie' last='Neal'] and held her own on more than one occasion. Asanya can step outside and make the occasional jumper. She plays very well in the painted area and is aggressive in scoring on the inside. Asanya does well on the boards on both ends of the court. She is a smart player on the court and she does a good job of communicating with her teammates. She plays with a lot of maturity and is destined to do well as a Freshman.

[player_tooltip player_id='514521' first='Brie' last='McCoy'] / 6'1 PF / Creekside / PGH #63

McCoy was really playing well in Wesley Chapel and really understanding how to position her body and load her shots. She was finishing on the right-hand and left-hand side of the goal. She can run the court and fill the lanes and with her size, she brings force when she attacks the basket. McCoy will definitely bring some intensity to Creekside's front court and she will provide some much-needed help down low for the senior center, [player_tooltip player_id='352602' first='Kayla' last='Kastor'].

[player_tooltip player_id='400786' first='Imani' last='Henderson'] / 6'2 PF/ C / Atlantic Coast / PGH #66

Henderson is turning into that defensive stopper in the middle and offensively she can put the ball in the basket in the painted area. Defensively, she is one of the better shot blockers in the 2026 class. Henderson was a standout in several tournaments over the summer and duplicated the impressive play at the Southeast Showcase. Henderson will be a Freshman player to be reckoned with at Atlantic Coast High School. Henderson is one of the best young shot blockers in the Jacksonville area. In one summer tournament, Henderson averaged 12 rebounds and 5 blocks per game. If she gives half that output as a Freshman, she is going to be special.

[player_tooltip player_id='248549' first='Jordan' last='Francis'] / 6'2 PF/C / Mandarin / PGH #71

Going against [player_tooltip player_id='247154' first='Yakiya' last='Milton'] during some open gym practice and other power forwards has paid dividends for Francis. Francis has the hunger to get better and she does some nice things on the basketball court. She runs the court well, rebounds well, and likes to play defense. Jordan had some decent moments during summer ball, but she looks to be coming into her own as a Power Forward and Center on the high school level.

Mia Chandler / 5'10 PF / Mandarin / Not ranked

Chandler was really impressive during the summer league play and played with the confidence of a much older player. She plays good defense and is a very good shot blocker at an early age. Chandler runs the floor well and does not shy away from the big moments on the court. In an overtime summer game, Chandler was the go-to player. She put the game into overtime with a steal and penetration to the basket. Chandler is comparable to any power forward on this list. She has turned some heads at Mandarin and she will be an impactful Freshman this upcoming season.

With the new rankings out, it is apparent that the talent at the forward position is plentiful. In this article, we look at some of the 2026 power forwards around the State of Florida who will be very impactful in High School Basketball this upcoming season.
