Lainey Portman Lainey Portman 5'10" | SG Heritage Hall | 2024 State OK plays every position on the floor   She attacked the rim multiple times using a big variety of moves to finish.  Runs the floors great on both ends of the court.    Shot from the outside as well as a nice mid range jump shot.  Aggressive scorer off the dribble with either a nice step back or just getting to rim  Handles the ball in transition with her eyes always up the floor looking to read the defense.  Lainey versatility should make her a tough match for opposing teams

Yesterday I did a piece on seniors that coaches need to wake up on and Lainey should have probably been on that list. You watch her video and she jumps off the screen as a player who is outworking every single other player out there. Some kids just want it. She is clearly one of them. She’s a 5’10” player who guards every position, crashes the boards on rebounds, and isn’t afraid to go to ground to battle for any loose ball. Oh yeah, did I mention that she can shoot the three? There’s that as well. Get out to Heritage Hall and catch a game this season. You’ve got one more go-round to offer her a chance to play at your school. You won’t regret it.

Lainey is a skilled guard with good size and a range of ability. She handles the ball with pace and is pretty shifty and creative. She plays the game with enthusiasm and passion, communicating and bringing good effort for her team. One of her super powers is her shot-making ability. Lainey has range and will hit the open shot and make the “Big” shot when her team needs it. She can bang down low and rebound if needed. She is a guard that can also guard a bigger player, and works hard defensively. She is moving well on the court and I am interested to see how she does her junior year at Heritage Hall.
