Kinsea Logan Kinsea Logan 6'1" | C Mansfield Lakeridge | 2025 State TX -6’0 SG (Mansfield Lake Ridge)
Logan continues to show she’s a threat with the jumper, after all, she’s long and athletic with probably a 6’2 wingspan and when you factor in that she elevates on her jumper, well it’s hard to stop. Not only is she knocking it down, but she’s also doing it with a hand in her face and I’m talking in the set, as well as in transition. Her attacking the basket from the wing is a plus, so is her playing the passing lane because she can handle the ball after the steal
Gavyn Robinson-5’4 PG (Mansfield Lake Ridge)
Robinson is playing with more poise this season and after a solid freshman year, it’s apparent that she’s made the jump with ease. Her controlling the tempo and being vocal on the court has improved, and so has her “directing the traffic”. The game starts at the 1 and her playing under control will be huge for her squad this year. She sees the floor, makes good decisions, and scores off the dribble
Joy Egbuna Joy Egbuna 6'2" | C Mansfield Lakeridge | 2025 State TX -6’3 C (Mansfield Lake Ridge)
Egbuna is fierce in the interior, in fact, let me drop BEAST in the paint. She’s strong and powerful and goes up to score strongly and powerfully yet she also does one of the many things I love to see and that’s “she goes after the ball off the rim” which, and I say this over and over, is a lost art. Her defense on the inside also looked good
Kamryn Phoenix-5’5 CG (Cibolo Steele)
Phoenix had me thinking about Isaac Hayes, think Shaft, old song “By The Time I Get To Phoenix” because if you’re a defender and gave her some room, she dropped it from mid to long range consistently when I saw her. She’s athletic, has a nice first step and I really see even more upside in her already impressive game. Factor in that not only can she shoot, but she can also “catch and shoot”
Hope Edwards Hope Edwards 5'6" | PG Leander | 2025 State TX – 5’6 CG ( Cedar Park)
Edwards sold me a couple of seasons ago just by hearing being heady and able to create her shot under pressure. Not only does she create it, but she also knocks it down from mid to long-range and her deceptive first step enables her to get by defenders, with either hand. I also enjoy watching her body control as she finishes strongly after contact
Mariah Davis-5’8 SG/SF (Cedar Park)
Davis gets the cover photo because I love #THROWBACK players, which is why I hashtag it. At her size and watching her understand positioning is definitely a blast from yesteryear as she will not be outworked. By simply boxing out, she can outrebound players above “the magic number” and one more time, that number is 6’0. Even more impressive was her being able to seal and score against taller players. The midrange looked good and she attacked from outside the paint
