The senior urgency for Bowen has been apparent since the Tournament of Champions in December, and should only be amplified as BA battles for a State Tournament berth. She rebounds like a forward, defends multiple positions and even scores when needed. Her impact is made more apparent through the energy and passion she plays with. If Broken Arrow is able to climb the tough 6A mountain it will likely involve moments from Bowen. Which will have people reminiscing “remember that hustle play Rekiah made?” “Or how about that And 1 finish”? Oklahoma basketball fans will enjoy the swagger Bowen plays with before she takes her talents New Mexico Junior College.

Bowen has been a tone setter with physicality on both ends of the court in seemingly every viewing this year. Good athlete, with toughness to compete around the rim and foot speed to hang with smaller guards. Is tough to handle off the dribble, as she’s nimble while still being strong with the ball. Might have a bit of a clutch gene with the tough shot she hit to beat the buzzer. Type of upside and aggressive prospect who should thrive at New Mexico Junior College and quickly find a four year home.

The other Tiger in double figures, Bowen thrived in the athletic and tough contest. Nearly recorded a double double with 10 points and 9 rebounds. Hit some key jumpers and overall scoring, but it was her battling mindset on both ends of the court that stood out. Has swagger to how she plays defense and competes. Very promising signs for her to be a pivotal piece of a Broken Arrow team with Gold Ball aspirations.

Committed to New Mexico Junior College, Bowen is an athletic guard. Who based on the Broken Arrow-Edmond North contest, seems to thrive on doing the little things on the defensive end. Plays strong defense, utilizing her athleticism to stay with guards and her height to swat their shots or force bad looks. Got scrappy when she stole an inbounds as well. BA is one of the best teams in Oklahoma, and Bowen’s contributions are important and make them even tougher.

Game Watched: vs Choctaw, January 30th
Even on “tape” Bowen stands out with how she moves and her ball handling ability for a player her size. While her game was a little wild at times when it came to passing, there’s real promise because the athletic and height aspects to her game that simply can’t be taught. Bowen finally did bank in a jumper later in the contest, which she looks like with practice that she could be a real monster in the mid-range. More viewings are needed, if the poor shooting was an anomaly the BA Tiger could be one of the more undervalued prospects in Oklahoma’s loaded Class of 2025.

ReKiah is another junior who is looking like she will have a big-time, breakout season this year. She has been a standout when I’ve seen her play before, but there’s just a different level of explosiveness there now. I feel like, once the season starts up, this team is going to be on a whole other level and Bowen is going to be a big part of that. Her moves are just fluid, she is naturally athletic, and she makes smart basketball plays without thinking about it. She can shoot the three and is another player for BA that is very long and tall. They have players at positions one through five with length and size and ReKiah is one of them that can probably play most of those.
