Ella is a really nice basketball player who brings a lot to the table for her teams. She has a strong frame, she plays with poise & patience, and she sees the floor well. She can shoot it consistently from the perimeter, and with some range. To some degree, I think Ella is a “fit” kid in a program who prides themselves on efficiency and execution. She can handle the ball, find open teammates, plus she is a quietly tough kid who absorbs contact well and just continues through it. She has drawn a variety of interest from Division-I to elite small colleges.

I have always enjoyed Ella’s steady pace on the ball, and her overall feel and patience for the game, so I was interested earlier this Spring to see how she’d adapt to the Gym Rats’ up-tempo style. What it has done has forced her to play with more urgency and analyze situations quicker. She now looks more than comfortable at this level and has provided them with a good perimeter shooter and secondary ball-handler who plays hard and won’t make many mistakes.
