Here’s just a handful of top performances that I have watched live, been sent by the player, or seen on Twitter. There are MANY other players who have stood out that I missed as well. Here’s some more of Devin’s Standouts!
Portia does it all for Newport and does it all well. She always guards the opposing teams top player and she does it extremely well. She still contributes on offense, proving how locked in she is nightly. Against Redmond she dropped 24 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, and even had 5 steals on defense.
Highlights
Shayla is a top player within her class in the entire state. She’s an outstanding shooter from deep and attacks the rim nicely. She’s very active on defense, leading to many turnovers for the opposing team. Against Yelm, she dropped 42 points, knocking down 7 threes on the night. She also pulled down 9 rebounds, dished out 4 assists, and got 7 steals on defense.
Kylani is a great overall player. She scores the ball well and does it all for her team. She will distribute the ball to find her open teammates, she will also go get involved in the rebounds. Against Jackson on 1/26/2023, she dropped 29 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists on the night.
The best freshman in the state of Washington continues to impress every single week. She already broke the school record for points in a game this season so, why not do it again? That’s exactly what she did against La Conner. She dropped a school record 50 points, including 7 threes. Her offensive game is so versatile, it’s extremely impressive for only being a freshman. Her progression over the next couple years will be something to watch.
Mikah has been LIGHTS OUT for this North Creek team. She has had many games where she has sank 4 or 5 threes a game, maybe even more. She has one of the quickest releases in the state and is extremely accurate. Against Mariner HS, she dropped 29 points, including 9 threes. She also contributed 8 assists to her teammates.
