since her freshman year, and her continued development especially with her length and size—remains a consistent strength in her game. Defensively, she uses that length effectively to contest shots, protect the rim, and disrupt opponents’ scoring attempts. Her ability to alter shots without fouling and provide a strong interior presence was a key factor during Next Level’s comeback effort on Sunday evening.
Offensively, Canaan showed a strong understanding of how to use her physical tools, particularly when creating mismatches against smaller IBC guards. She was comfortable operating in the post, where she scored on a pair of fadeaway jumpers and used her body to create contact and get to the free throw line. Her patience, touch around the basket, and willingness to take what the defense gives her stood out, especially in critical moments of the game.
What makes Canaan valuable is her versatility and ability to contribute without needing high volume touches. She plays within the system, rebounds the basketball, defends multiple positions at times, and finishes plays when opportunities arise. Her size, instincts, and consistency make her a dependable piece on both ends of the floor, and she continues to develop into a player who can impact winning at a high level as she progresses.

brings good size and a strong ability to score around the rim for DistinXion 2027. She utilizes her frame well, finishing through contact and being effective in the paint.
Defensively, Canaan does a solid job protecting the paint while also showing the ability to step out and guard on the perimeter. Her versatility on that end allows her to impact multiple areas of the floor.
In matchups against strong competition like S40, she showed a willingness to step up to the challenge and compete. Her physical tools and defensive presence make her a player worth monitoring as she continues to develop.

I always enjoy watching Rylee play because she combines size, a little strength, and physicality with nice skill, shooting touch, and a good basketball IQ. She’s also a solid all-around athlete at her size with really nice length. She committed to Butler University almost a year ago and became the first 2027 prospect to make a decision. The next step for Rylee is to simply be consistently dominant. She has the tools to be a double-double machine each time out.

Rylee came in as a Freshman and averaged 10.4 points plus 5.2 rebounds per game for an experienced/veteran Memorial team last season. She is arguably the most talented prospect in the Pocket City, and she could see her numbers nearly double without some talented 2024 graduates able to help out. Rylee is physical, she plays with a nice motor, and she can dominate the mid-post, step outside and knock down a shot, or create a little off the dribble. As she continues to learn how to play lower, watch out!

Getting to know this class over the better part of the last year, Rylee has clearly stood out as one of the better prospects. However, at the Proving Ground event, she played with a great deal of urgency and looked like a seasoned high school veteran playing “up” in the 16U age group. She was active, communicated with teammates, and led by example. She has nice strength for her age, she’s skilled with the basketball, and she can play inside or out…wherever needed, really. Offensively, she is skilled like a small forward, but defensively, she is best against power forwards and posts.
