A recent signee with University of Richmond. Kate not only has high IQ in the classroom but plays the game at a high level. She understands the “why”. She has excellent size on the perimeter and is a knock down shooter. After averaging almost 20 points last season and a single game high that broke the record for Union County with 58 points it will be exciting to see her and her team make another run for the championship.

Kate Schindler Kate Schindler 6'0" | CG Marvin Ridge | 2026 State NC continues to make nice plays on both ends of the court.  She sees the floor well being able to hit her teammates for the pass in stride as they flash to the basket.  She strips the ball from her opponents taking the steal the other direction.  She can definitely make it from deep as well.

Kate Schindler Kate Schindler 6'0" | CG Marvin Ridge | 2026 State NC is ready to continue her strong high school career for one more season.  She’s an excellent ball handler knowing how to make her move to lose her defenders, and she can step back knocking down her shot all over the court.  Her height is an asset going after rebounds using offensive boards to score some points.  She’s patient knowing when to make her move, and her movements open up the court for her teammates, too, making defenders crash around her.

We begin with a commitment announcement. Schindler is one of North Carolina’s premier prospects playing for one of North Carolina’s premier teams in Marvin Ridge which will embark on its 7A journey this coming season. The Mavericks were 24-6 last season. Schindler recently made her commitment announcement as she will take her talents to the Spiders of Richmond in 2026. She is a two-sport athlete who also partakes in softball alongside her basketball achievements. Schindler had plenty of suitors which included American, George Washington, Cleveland State and Boston University. Schindler has spent her final season on the grassroots circuit with Elevate Elite 17U 3SSB. 

Kate Schindler Kate Schindler 6'0" | CG Marvin Ridge | 2026 State NC has been continuing her dominance from the high school season into the spring.  Her length is great on both ends getting her hands in the way on defense and being able to shoot up and over her opponents.  Her knockdown shooting from deep is definitely fun to watch, and she adjusts well to her defenders knowing when she can blow by them driving to the basket.  

Speaking of scoring a lot of points, Kate Schindler Kate Schindler 6'0" | CG Marvin Ridge | 2026 State NC scored 58 with 12 three-pointers in one game.  Her ability to score is fun to watch as she has a finesse with the ball using her long strides to get inside and score at the rim.  She can score off the dribble or the pass around the perimeter, and she battles inside for points using post moves to score in the paint.  She handles the ball well for her team attacking the gaps and making smart passes to get a play going.

Games such as Saturday’s against Georgia-based 6A Grovetown continue to display why Schindler is a Division I prospect with a bevy of offers on the table. Schindler led Marvin Ridge’s efforts against the Warriors en route to a dominant 73-38 victory over Grovetown. The six-foot junior guard scored 19 points and her scoring was roughly evenly distributed over the two halves with nine in the first half and 10 in the second. Rain must have been in the forecast for Indian Land HS. Schindler drained three of the 13 triples that overwhelmed the Grovetown defense. She is a two-sport athlete who also excels at softball.

Kate Schindler Kate Schindler 6'0" | CG Marvin Ridge | 2026 State NC had a nice take coast to coast getting by her opponents and making a bucket through contact.  She uses her height to get some nice rebounds on both ends, and she knows exactly how to push the tempo taking the rebound to the other end for some solo fast breaks.  Her finishes around the rim are very difficult to defend making it  nearly impossible to game plan against her.

Kate Schindler Kate Schindler 6'0" | CG Marvin Ridge | 2026 State NC has earned the title of shooter which is why opposing coaches shout it at the top of their lungs when the ball is in her hands.  She can definitely knock it down from deep, but she does well making some magic with the ball in her hands attacking the gaps.  She can bring the ball up the court and find her open teammate, and she can get inside finishing at the rim with hands all around her.

Similar to Malcolm, Kate Schindler Kate Schindler 6'0" | CG Marvin Ridge | 2026 State NC uses her length and ball handling to her full advantage.  She is constantly keeping her eyes peeled for the best play attacking the gaps herself or hitting her teammates with a nice pass.  She slides into the paint moving around easily to get the open look and make the defense shift.  Her opponents better make sure to protect the perimeter around her because she is certain to get hot from deep.
