INTRODUCTION: Arizona boasts many outstanding rebounders. Here's a look at the top five returning for next season.

NORAH MOO - is a 6-1 sophomore center who plays at Scottsdale Christian Academy and is the top returning rebounder in Arizona. She led all players in 2023 with an average of 17.8 rebounds per game. In 19 games for SCA last winter, she also averaged 15. 4 points per game and had a number of double-doubles. Norah also plays on the SCA volleyball team. Her team finished overall with a 12-9 record and 8-4 in their section. The 17.8 rebounds per game includes over eight offensive boards per contest. She was nominated for Player of the Week in late January by AZCentral.com in which, over a four-game stretch, she averaged 21 points and 19 rebounds.

EVALUATION: Norah is the definition of the term 'rim protector.' She led the entire state in rebounding as a sophomore, averaging 17.8 boards per game. This also included an average of over eight offensive rebounds per game. Her wide wingspan makes her a defensive terror for her opponents. She is also an outstanding team leader with a terrific work ethic.

[player_tooltip player_id='205643' first='Aniyah' last='Riddell'] - is a 6-1 junior center for Mountain View High School. She finished seventh in the state n rebounding last season, averaging 13.2 boards per game. She also has a 4.0 GPA. In 24 games, Amiyah averaged 15.7 points per game. MVHS lost to Sunrise Mountain, 58-44, in the AIA playoffs last winter. As a freshman, she averaged 14.7 points a game and 12.5 rebounds per contest. She was selected by Max Preps as Player of the Game a total of 10 separate times.

EVALUATION: Aniyah had an outstanding junior season and dominated the offensive and defensive rims. Her shooting and ball-handling skills have improved tremendously and she remains a terror on defense. She also has a wide wingspan which results in steals, deflections, and turnovers. She should have an outstanding senior year before she heads off to college for the 2024-25 season.

LIA SIMS - is a 5-9 junior guard/forward for Central High School in Phoenix. She finished eighth in the state in rebounding, averaging 13.1 boards per game. Lia also averaged 19.3 points and 3.7 steals. As a sophomore, she averaged 10.2 points and 9.0 rebounds. She was named Player of the Game by Max Preps on two different occasions in November and December of 2022. Lia was also nominated for the Arizona High School Girls Basketball Player of the Week for WaFd Bank in late January. That week she dropped in 28 in one contest and 20 in another as the Bobcats won both games.

EVALUATION: Lia is an outstanding all-around player, both offensively and defensively. Her forte is rebounding, having finished eighth in the state last season with an average of 13.1 boards per game. She had a ton of double-doubles in 2022-23 while averaging over 19 points per game. Defensively, she is intimidating to her opponents as a rim protector. Lia displays a great work ethic and is a leader for her Central team, both on and off the court.

HOPE SIELAFF - is a 6-0 junior center for Valley Lutheran High School and finished tenth in the state in rebounding last winter, averaging 13.0 per game. She was nominated by AZCentral.com for the Arizona High School Girls Basketball Player of the Week. In a win over Superior High School, she totaled 35 rebounds including a remarkable 24 on the offensive glass. In 23 games, Hope averaged 8.7 points and 4.1 blocks. Over three varsity seasons, a total of 64 games, she averaged 4.9 points per contest. In the 2022-23 season, she was nominated by Max Preps as Player of the Game on six separate occasions.

EVALUATION: Hope has developed into a consistent all-around player who specializes in two things - rebounding and blocking shots. She is a forceful presence on defense, having averaged over four blocks per game. In one game earlier this past season, she amassed 35 rebounds with 24 of them being offensive boards. She is ready for an outstanding senior season in 2023-24.

SYDNEY DICKERSON - Is a six-foot junior at North High School in Phoenix. She finished eleventh in the state in rebounding, hauling down 12.8 per game. As a power forward, in 25 games, she averaged 11.2 points per game. She also shot 51% of her two-point field goals from the floor. This past season she was awarded Player of the Game honors by Max Preps a total of five different times. She was also nominated by AZCentral.com for Arizona Girls High School Player of the Week in January for her performance against Browne High School. She scored 16 points and pulled down 14 boards in the game. Sydney is a transfer from Mountain Pointe High School.

EVALUATION: Sydney has developed into a tremendous rebounder both on the offensive and defensive ends of the court. She has also improved her overall shooting, hitting 51% of her two-point shots last year. Having an outstanding presence on the defensive side, Sydney makes all of her teammates better defenders. She should be ready for an outstanding senior season this coming fall.
