I did not get to see as many games or teams as I originally wanted to (my original goal was way too lofty), however, I scouted 10 different games while also attending a three-hour football camp.
Some of the top talent from five different states were in Pittsburg and the elite players from Kansas stepped up their games.
Creating All-Star squads is just fun, and a perk for members of the media. I got to vote for MVP of the World Series once and it was a big deal. I have made All-Deck All-Star Teams after the Heart of America Volleyball Season and felt it was only fitting to wrap up my coverage of the Pitt State Camp with a new All-Star creation.
So, without further ado here is the 2023 All-Deck Pitt State Camp Team featuring seven players who post game-changing performances.
Jaliya Davis Jaliya Davis 6'2" | C Blue Valley North | 2025 State KS , 6’2″, C, Blue Valley North, ’25
Davis is a Division I Power Conference prospect all day, every day. She scored 19 points and finished with four rebounds in a game I scouted on Day One. The Mustang Center is currently ranked No. 2 in the PGH Kansas Rankings for the Class of 2025. Davis assisted in leading Blue Valley North to a 7-1 record during the three-day event in Pool A action.
Taylin Stallbaumer Taylin Stallbaumer 5'7" | CG Seaman | 2024 State KS , 5’7”, G, Seaman, ‘24
Stallbaumer lived up to the pre-tournament hype I had heard about her. She scored 12 points for the Seaman Vikings in a 28-point victory over South Harrison (AR). She is a disciplined guard who takes care of the ball and takes quality shots. Seaman finished with a 3-5 record during the tournament in Varsity A action.
Ashley Singhateh Ashley Singhateh 5'8" | PG Maize South | 2024 State KS , 5’8″, SG, Maize South ‘24
Singhateh is transferring to Maize South from Eureka. She scored 16 points in the game I scouted. She is strong and very quick. She loves to drive the ball to the basket. The Mavericks finished with a record of 6-2 in Varsity A play.
Emma Sales Emma Sales 5'10" | SG Olathe West | 2025 State KS , 5’10”, SG, Olathe West ‘25
Olathe West was the only team I watched play twice and Sales had two solid games combining for 18 points in the two wins. There is not much she can’t do on the court. She plays solid defense, can find open players, and can score from all over the court. The Owls finished a perfect 8-0 in Varsity B play to win that pool’s title.
Aubrey Shaw Aubrey Shaw 6'1" | PG Blue Valley North | 2025 State KS , 6’1″, PG, Blue Valley North, ‘25
Shaw is a real gunslinger, and arguably the most talented player in Pittsburg this week. She made five 3-point field goals and finished with 21 points in a win over Glenpool (OK). She has solid court vision and can score or pass depending on the defense.
Elizabeth Tjaden Elizabeth Tjaden 5'9" | SG Clearwater | 2024 State KS , 5’9″, SG, Clearwater, ‘24
Tjaden is a solid basketball player. She can shoot, drive, pass, and play defense. The Clearwater prospect is ranked No. 19 in Kansas in the Class of 2024. Several college coaches and players were talking about her tournament performance. Clearwater finished the tournament with a 6-2 record in Varsity C Pool Play.
Brooke Walker Brooke Walker 5'8" | CG Andover | 2024 State KS , 5’8”, G, Andover, ‘24
Walker is an all-around guard who can take care of the ball and has a nice jump shot. Walker averaged 17.3 points per game and 4.4 rebounds during her junior season. Walker is currently ranked No. 3 in the Kansas Prep Girls Hoops Class of 2024 Rankings. She scored seven points in Andover’s victory over Owasso (OK). The Andover squad finished with a 4-4 record in Varsity A action.
