Top Guard Performances At The Haven Jamboree

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Haven Wildcats hosted a 10-team Jamboree on June 21.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Girls Hoops scouted several of the games from the event. Games were played with two 13-minute halves and a running clock.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This report focuses on guards who had solid scoring contributions in the games scouted.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='265114' first='Elizabeth' last='Tjaden']</strong>, 5'9", SG, Clearwater ‘24</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Tjaden is a player I have watched play over the past two weeks. Clearwater participated in the Jamboree at Haven and at the Pitt State Team Camp last week. She scored 10 points in a six-point loss to home-town Haven. She shot a perfect 3-of-3 from the free-throw line and played the entire game. The Clearwater prospect made a verbal commitment to an instate Division II program and will publicly announce that commitment in the near future.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Regan Ayres</strong>, 5'5”, SG, Cheney, ‘24</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Ayres is a 3-point sharp-shooter. She connected on four 3-point field goals in two games. Scoring three of those in a tough loss to Remington. She plays solid defense and shares the ball well. Ayres is quick looks to push the pace but is able to find space in the half-court offense. Opposing defenders have to get a hand in her face or she will burn them from deep.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='667175' first='Bri' last='Hochstetler']</strong>, 5'8", SG, Remington ,'24</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Hochstetler is a player any college team looking for depth and a player maker would want to add to its roster. She is fast and physical. She plays with a chip on her shoulder and in a good way. She is not intimidated one bit and wants to run the floor. Hochstetler is currently ranked No. 162 in the Class of 2024 by the PGH Kansas. She could play guard or forward depending on a team's needs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Aaliyah Richard</strong>, 5'2”, PG, Northwest, ‘25</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I saw Richard play back-to-back days and her performance in Haven was far improved from Summer League action the night before. She scored five points and finished with three rebounds for the Grizzlies. She played with much more composure in a loss to Dodge City than she did the night before.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='621238' first='Raegan' last='Black']</strong>, 5'7", PG, Cheney, '26</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Black is an interesting prospect. She thrives on contact and loves driving the ball to the rim. There were times in both Cheney games I watched that the defense was playing “Hack-A-Black” instead of “Hack-A-Shaq.” She combined for 13 points in the two games I scouted. Black can really push the pace and looks to get the Cardinals out in transition.  She is currently ranked No. 49 in the PGH Kansas ranking for the Class of 2026.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='932970' first='Alex' last='Suter-Tan']</strong>, 5'6”, PG, Trinity, ‘27</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One freshman player who really caught my eye was Hutch Trinity's [player_tooltip player_id='932970' first='Alex' last='Suter-Tan']. She plays with high-energy and fights for loose balls and rebounds. She scored six points and cleaned the glass for four boards in a loss to Andale.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
