Tomorrow starts the 16U players who caught my attention this spring.
Aisley Shields, SR Elite
Really like the way she can get herself open by popping off the screens and knocks down the shot off the catch-and-shoot. Her range is smooth and can penetrate in and connect from the midrange. She is a playmaker and a guard with the “it” factor to be a solid leader.
Ariella Henigan Ariella Henigan 5'7" | CG Kenwood | 2025 State IL , Midwest Elite EYBL
Extremely athletic and an aggressive defender with active and quick hands, can force mistakes and will capitalize on them. Reads the play well with good instincts for the game. Smart, heady player good court awareness and a solid basketball IQ.
Katie Kaufman Katie Kaufman 6'0" | C Ottawa Glandorf | 2024 State OH , Team 419
This young lady has worked very hard to become a formidable D2 recruit and has verballed to Malone. I love her length and her ability to utilize her wingspan to defend multiple positions, along with control the passing lanes. Always thinking ahead of the play, she has good handles and can push transition with ease.
Lorena Awou Lorena Awou 6'5" | PF United Township | 2024 State IL , Midwest Elite NIKE
I almost missed her play, but fortunately a friend in the building led me to her. What a great athlete! She has several major D1 offers at the time of her tournament and displays excellent footwork in the paint. She is a bigtime prospect with strong moves to the rim. She can be special.
Grace Knowlton Grace Knowlton 5'9" | CG Frontier Local | 2024 State OH , Team Ohio Tuck
It was the first time I had seen her play this year and she made a solid impact on me. She learned a lot playing for the longest active tenured club coach in Ohio, Tuck Conner. She is a play maker and has all the tools. Great handles, distributes and is shifty. Multi-dimensional and can get to the rim and score.
Morgan Lyons Morgan Lyons 5'9" | SG South Gallia | 2024 State OH , Team Ohio Tuck
She is an outstanding shooter, and there aren’t many better. She has range from anywhere outside the arc, and has developed other parts of her game to become more of a steady offensive threat. Loves to put pressure on the ball, can turn it over and create scoring opportunities for her team. Smart, heady player with a good basketball IQ.
