Tobi Owolabi
About Tobi
Expert Analysis
Kyle Sandy | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Quick drive and kick playmaker was able to set up teammates for open shots throughout camp. Tobi found her own points with three-pointers and nifty drives to the rim but Norcross was most dangerous when she was able to find Gabby Thomas for threes and Taylor Johnson for layups. Owolabi has take-over ability with her scoring, but her presence to make others around her better really showed up at North Georgia.

Tobi was in total control with the basketball in her hands each time Norcross had possession on offense. The precision with which she operated with was surgical in nature and she was one of the better shot makers at the camp. She was extremely skillful off the bounce keeping the ball low and getting quickly to her spots for pull up jump shots and showed touch scoring around the basket. Owolabi was very good shooting the ball in catch and situations as well as off the dribble from beyond the three point line as well. She has elite ball handling ability that rivals anyone in Georgia, something she has clearly worked hard to achieve. Defensively she had quick and active hands and feet and did a good job keeping everything in front of her.

Tobi put together an impressive showing by shooting the ball at a high clip from deep against strong competition like AIA. She played with great patience throughout, never forcing the action and consistently making the right reads. One of the best passers in the building, she delivered the ball with precision and timing which created quality looks for her teammates. In transition, she showed strong control and used her strength effectively to create space, making her a steady and impactful presence on the offensive end.

Successful shooting from distance. She kept a low stance on D and quick hands to bother the opponent and create a little chaos. Notable commitment to playing both sides of the ball. There were a few stretches where she hit a triple then forced a turnover right after.
