Marissa had a solid showing for MBA UA Rise 17U at the PGH MI College Tour III. She drove to the basket aggressively, fired crisp passes to open teammates, and shot the ball confidently from three. Marissa used a quick crossover to drive-by a defender for a contested layup and drained an open three from the slot.

Marissa averaged 13 points, four rebounds, three assists, and a steal per game for Wayland Union in December. She posted a huge 30-point performance during a win against West Catholic and was a leader in the backcourt throughout the year. Marissa works hard to close up driving lanes, penetrates off the dribble, creates for others, and knocks down triples with confidence.

Marissa was determined to end Wayland’s four-game skid. Against a tough D2 contender, Grand Rapids West Catholic, she erupted for 30 points, leading the Wildcats to a 60-57 victory in overtime.

Marissa, a junior point guard for Wayland, has helped lead her team to a strong 10–3 start this season with her speed and all-around impact. A super quick guard, she can get downhill in a hurry, blowing past defenders and putting constant pressure on the paint. She’s also a threat from beyond the arc, capable of knocking down the three-ball and keeping defenses honest. On the defensive end, Marissa brings relentless intensity, using her quickness, active hands, and sharp instincts to force turnovers and disrupt opposing offenses. Her energy and leadership at the point have been key ingredients in Wayland’s success so far this season.

Marissa heads into her junior season as one of Wayland’s most dynamic backcourt threats. With her burst and ability to change direction on a dime, she can break down defenders and get into scoring positions with ease. She’s comfortable shooting from the perimeter, creating her own looks, and sparking the offense when the Wildcats need a lift. Defensively, her energy translates into tight pressure and turnover opportunities. Marissa’s speed, competitiveness, and growing skill set put her in line for an impressive year.

Marissa is a speedy guard with a lightning-quick first step that makes her nearly impossible to stay in front of. She attacks defenders off the bounce with confidence and has no problem pulling up and knocking down shots from deep. On the defensive end, she brings the same intensity—pressuring the ball, forcing turnovers, and making life difficult for opposing guards. Her combination of quickness, skill, and grit makes her a problem on both ends of the floor.

Marissa had a strong spring campaign with MBA, standing out as a dynamic backcourt presence. She’s lightning-quick with the ball in her hands and wastes no time attacking the lane, putting pressure on defenses with her speed and shiftiness. She can knock down shots from beyond the arc and is just as impactful on the defensive end, where she takes pride in locking up opposing guards. With momentum on her side, Marissa is poised for a standout June and a key role with Wayland this upcoming season.

Marissa led the offensive charge for Michigan Drive Premier -27-Bowers on day one of the Select Super Showcase. She attacked downhill full speed off the dribble to score a layup through contact and then knocked down her free throw. She pushed the ball full speed in transition off of a defensive rebound to get to the line and hit another free throw, then extended her shot beyond the arc to sink a wing 3. Marissa scored a left floater off the bounce and had an excellent first day.

She is an impactful ball handler as she beat her defender middle with a spin dribble and scored a determined drive downhill off the glass. She put her defender in jail after a crossover move and drilled a smooth wing 3.

Ainsworth had a big weekend shooting the ball. She connected on 8 3-pointers at a 44% rate over the weekend. She’s not just a shooter though, she does a great job breaking down defenders and making plays for herself and her teammates. She is relentless on the defensive side of the ball, coming away with countless steals on the weekend. College coaches should definitely take notice of this dynamic guard.
