I like what Morgan brings to the floor and how well she can play next to ball-dominant players. She shoots the leather off the ball and is an excellent floor spacer who can shoot the ball at a high clip when she’s on the floor. I also like how willing she is to compete around the basket and rebound the ball in a crowd. She is a more physical player than people may give her credit for, but I like how willing she is to do the little things to win games.
The Grafton native has the skill set to break games open with her ability to knock down perimeter jumpers. She is an excellent set shooter who can get her shot up quickly in catch-and-shoot situations. Morgan has the gravity to keep defenders attached to her, and it’s something opposing coaches tell their kids when they play Grafton, which fundamentally shifts how a team defends as a unit. There’s room to grow for sure, but she has a skill that can be valuable for a program the second she steps foot on a college campus.
The Grafton native has brought some physicality to her position on both ends of the floor. Morgan has always been an excellent perimeter shooter who can spot up and knock down shots from beyond the arc. However, her willingness to dig in, box out, and help her team clear their defensive lines by rebounding. She has shown she can help her team win on the margins in multiple fashions and can bring a positive presence to a program at the next level.
I thought Morgan had a solid afternoon with her Chapman Basketball Academy
group. She shot the ball well and helped her team seperate in the first portion of the game today. However, as I talked about a few weeks ago, she also showed some of the physicality and willingness to scrap for extra possessions and help her team close out possessions by rebounding. I like where her game has been going over the past year, and she should end up with a competitive program at the next level.
Morgan is a solid perimeter shooter and can swing games as a floor spacer. She has the attention of opposing coaches when she’s on the floor, which says a lot about what she can do. The off-ball guard has also shown a willingness to dig in and rebound in a conference that traditionally has scrappy players all over the place. She has some tools she can build with after she graduates, and plays at the next level, if she chooses.
I did not get the chance to watch much of Melanie’s team play she did catch my eye! She showed a complete all-around game including the ability to control the pace creating open looks for her teammates. Shooting 32.9%, from 3, last season, Melanie looks to have worked hard this offseason and I expect, from what I saw, for that number to be closer to 40% this season!
Morgan can shoot the lights, particularly from 3 point land! There’s no hesitation in her shot! Love how she takes charge- she’s confident in her teammates, sees the floor well, has a never dying battery, and plays with such great pace!

is a player you definitely don’t want to leave open on the perimeter! She has a beautiful shot with serious range. After making a strong debut in the North Shore Conference as a freshman, Morgan is set to return as a key player for Grafton High School. She is a high-IQ player who remains very active off the ball, constantly making cuts and searching for openings to get free on offense. Defensively, she consistently positions herself well and boxes out on every shot, a quality that any scout or coach would applaud. Morgan is also unafraid to attack the basket off the dribble. With her shooting range, I hope to see her take greater advantage of the challenges defenders face when trying to guard her this season. She will be exciting to watch!
