Continue ReadingApologies on our end for a big of time between us continuing to talk about our latest rankings, but since the updated 2025 rankings are out with Prep Girls Hoops New Jersey, it’s time to continue our positional rankings breakdown. Here are the top five point guards according to our current rankings update.
No. 1: Faith Williamson Faith Williamson 5'8" | PG Saddle River Day | 2025 State NJ – Saddle River Day (No. 7 overall)
Williamson had the sophomore season that girls basketball fans up north had been looking for after a stellar freshman season. When it comes to controlling the game from the top of the key, Williamson commands the position and wants to run the show. Plus, she’s developed into someone who does it quite well, often igniting the flame with a play. While being a point guard, her shooting prowess stands out amongst the rest, 76 made three-pointers in 26 games, nearly 150 in two high school seasons so far.
No. 2: Mia Gestosani Mia Gestosani 5'8" | PG Mount St. Mary | 2025 State NJ – Mount St. Mary (No. 9 overall)
Another jack of all trades, Gestosani has been a revelation for Mount St. Mary, especially over the last season. She’s fine-tuned her game into becoming a more well-rounded guard, one that will be impactful and important on either side of the ball. She can score with the best of them, able to shoot from just about anywhere on the floor, plus she’s a facilitator, a strong defensive presence and an excellent decision-maker on the fly. She possesses the kind of top-end skills that a superstar has.
No. 3: Paradise Fisher Paradise Fisher 5'6" | PG University | 2025 State NJ – University (No. 11 overall)
Fisher, despite felling down in our rankings a bit, is nothing short of a fantastic player in her own regard. Her facilitation game alone deserves to be praised, averaging nearly 5.5 assists a game as a sophomore after racking up five assists a game as a freshman. Her defense is up there for some of the best man defense played by a guard in the state, and she’s consistently produced in that respect over her first two seasons. Fisher runs University’s offense with immense success and is a fantastic player to build around.
No. 4: Jaida Guerra Jaida Guerra 5'6" | PG Union City | 2025 State NJ – Jose Marti STEM Academy (No. 14 overall)
Guerra recently transferred schools, but that doesn’t change anything about her success on the floor. In fact, her changing schools will only give her more opportunities to shine. A superstar as a sophomore, she averaged nearly 18 points a game, racking up baskets from just about anywhere on the floor. She’s also been an international superstar just the same, already playing for country in FIBA competitions, showing just how far she’s really come in a few years at the high school level.
No. 5: Christina Liggio Christina Liggio 5'8" | PG Red Bank Catholic | 2025 State NJ – Red Bank Catholic (No. 20 overall)
Red Bank Catholic is one of our favorite teams to cover with just the sheer amount of talent found up-and-down the roster. Liggio is certainly part of that talent pool, an incredibly basketball-savvy and basketball-smart guard with great court vision and IQ for the game that flat-out dominates when she’s on. It’s hard on the high school level just because she has 10+ great teammates around her, but even among that group, she shines and shows that she can be a college-level talent no doubt.
