Teammate Addison Hartman picked up the All-State nod for the Oilerettes, but Ella Porter Ella Porter 5'7" | CG Merritt | 2024 State OK had as good of a case as anyone for an All-State jacket. Guarding the other team’s best player every night, Porter averaged 10 a game for the Class 2A State Champions. Hitting the game-winner to go to State her sophomore season, Merritt was ranked #1 for much of her junior season before an untimely exit. Ella has signed to play at Northwestern Oklahoma State University next year.

Oliver Wendell Holmes once said, “Apology is only egotism wrong side out.” So, I’ll try to stop making myself feel better by apologizing for missing great players like Ella in previous rankings. The point is, she’s here now, and she’s such a fun player to watch. It all starts with her dedication to defense and, man, is it infuriating for opponents. Ten second calls. Charges. Steals. Frustration turnovers. She does it all and eventually the opponent is just losing their minds. That’s when the Oilers start running sets that have her shooting from all over the place. She racks up the points! Don’t wait to offer Ella. You don’t want to miss out!
