Although census data shows that the population in Crawford County has dropped over the past decade – area basketball fans would attest that the quality of the girls basketball teams is improving yearly. Buckeye Central has made numerous runs in the tournament to the regional and state levels and there are many tremendous coaches improving their programs county-wide.
Let’s take a look at a number of talented players from Crawford County.

Incredibly, Pifher was arguably the top 3-point shooter in the state of Ohio during her freshman season at Buckeye Central. Pifher drilled 52% of her attempts from downtown and made 54% of all field goal attempts for the year. The big and strong guard plays with a love of the game that is fun to watch – she has a bright future.
Taylor Ratliff – 5’6 Guard – Buckeye Central – Class of 2021
Ratliff is a playmaker who really came into her own as a sophomore. She does a great job of setting up easy scoring opportunities for her teammates – really making the game simple for them at times. She is a good defender who constantly makes winning plays on both ends of the court.
Lexi Evak – 6’2 Post – Buckeye Central – Class of 2020
Although Evak is headed to Walsh University to continue her athletic career as a volleyball player, she is without a doubt one of the best basketball players in Crawford County. Evak keeps the ball high around the rim – finishing at a high rate. She blocks shots and runs the court well.
Allison Teglovic – 5’7 Guard – Colonel Crawford – Class of 2021
Teglovic is in the tweener-mold, in-between the guard and forward positions. She is a set-shooter with good strength and solid range. She rebounds well from her perimeter position and has no problem with finishing through contact around the rim.

Crestline has struggled over the past decade, but a bright spot has been the career of Lauryn Tadda. As she enters her senior year and concludes her HS years– she will become a 4-year letterwinner and one of the leading scorers to suit them at the school in the past 25 years. Tadda is very tough and does a little bit of everything for the Bulldogs.
Lyndie Williams – 5’7 Guard – Wynford – Class of 2021
Williams is a good help-side defender who will block shots, create deflections and take charges. She covers a lot of ground in transition with the ball in her hands and does an outstanding job of using the pull-up game to score.
Rylee Alspach – 5’1 Guard – Wynford – Class of 2021
Rylee is Wynford’s lead guard and she does many of the things that you would expect the lead guard for a high-performing team to do. She is a great on-ball defender and breaks down defenses often. Alspach is quick and plays hard for four quarters each night.
