Holmen has one of the best “stop and pop” jumpers in Texas, and when you factor in that she can mix it up with the HEZ, and then blow by defenders, well, that’s a problem. Her “on the ball” pressure created turnovers, and her court vision was also a plus

Holmen has no notes by her name because what she does is embedded in my memory so let me start with her explosiveness and overpowering guards off the dribble. Her body control after contact looked good, so did her pull-up jumper and her “on the ball” pressure was solid

Holmen continues to show she’s hard to handle because she can be explosive off the dribble and uses her body well on her finishes so contact is irrelevant because she’s strong. Her mid to long-range gives her options but her crisp passes in traffic also stood out. She did a good job defending in the set as well as baseline to baseline

Holmen found ways to be relevant on her loaded state champion high school team yet a few weeks ago at The Prime Event, my exact words were “she mesmerizes me” and here’s why. I have a saying “it’s not what you do, it’s who you do it against” and that falls into my “common sense” way of thinking and watching her go at it against other “next level players’ and showing she could score off the dribble as well as drop the jumper wit a hand in her face was nice yet her doing it “under pressure” was even better

Holmen just mesmerizes me at times and her demeanor combined with her skill-set will have her very high when I change the Watchlist to numbers by names. Look, off the dribble, she’s hard to handle because she can attack with either hand going full speed but her staying under control is the key, to both scoring or assisting. She also can drop the jumper, with a hand in her face, and be a menace on defense

Holmen has the right last name because she makes it difficult for defenders to HOLD her, yet she does a good job of holding her man in the set as well as baseline to baseline. She’s fearless and shows it while attacking the basket, plus she stays with it when she knows contact is coming which places her in the “and one” waiting to happen group. She also drops it from outside, mid to long-range and her ability to see the floor under pressure is also a huge plus
