As the 2023-2024 season reaches the midpoint, a variety of showcases and tournaments are ongoing. In a couple of weeks, conference seasons will wind down, and teams will begin preparing for their 2024 state tournament run. After expanding the 2024 rankings list to a Top-125 and a watch list of another 125 prospects, we are now at 250 total 2024 prospects listed on Prep Girls Hoops Indiana. Our March update will mark the final time the Class of 2024 will be updated, but in the meantime, I wanted to highlight all of the combo guards in the class who we currently have listed, as well as point out some newcomers and those who have raised their stock since the beginning of the season.

WINTER NEWCOMERS:
DeLorean Mason

Southmont | 2024

, 2024, 5-4 CG, Southmont H.S.
– DeLorean is one of those guards who is sort of stuck between positions depending on what her team needs. She has nice speed and quickness, a lot of length at her size, plus ball skill, and the ability to score it in a variety of ways. I think she could play either guard spot at the next level, but added strength will be important as soon as possible. She currently remains uncommitted, to the best of our knowledge.
Vivian Miller

New Palestine | 2024

, 2024, 5-5 CG, New Palestine H.S.
– Vivian was a nice role player a season ago, but with the graduation of Isabella Gizzi (2023), Vivian has stepped into a primary ball-handling role at times for the Dragons this season. She is now scoring it at 10.3 points per game, plus she’s adding 4.6 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 2.6 steals per contest as well. She is also a multisport athlete who might consider participating at the next level in another discipline.
Audri Prater

Eastbrook | 2024
IN
, 2024, 5-5 CG, Eastbrook H.S.
– Audri played a nice role for Eastbrook last season, but she had a strong Spring & Summer grassroots season, and she has become much more productive as a Senior. She has nice length, wiry strength, and she’s a solid all-around athlete. She has touch from the perimeter, but now she’s handling and distributing it so much better. She’s also an effortful defender who can really get after it for the Panthers.
Lexi Smith

Princeton | 2024

, 2024, 5-3 CG, Princeton Community H.S.
– Lexi is a smaller, tough-nosed combo guard who can really get after it. Unfortunately, Princeton is mostly made up of small guards right now, so while she has ball skill and can play point, they use her for her ability to score the ball at all three levels. I think she can/will be a point guard at the next level, but she is more of a shooter/scorer for the Tigers this year, and they are off to a hot start because of it.

WINTER STOCK-RISERS:
Sydney Jerrells
Sydney

Linton-Stockton | 2024
IN
, 2024, 5-7 CG, Linton-Stockton H.S.
– Sydney put together a strong Summer and Fall, and she drew a great deal of small college interest throughout the Fall before settling on Morton College in Illinois. She plays extremely hard, flies all over, and she can handle, facilitate, or score it a little at all three levels. She has nice length, speed, and wiry strength. Sydney has done a nice job of growing as a player over the last 12-18 months.
Norah Miller

Evansville F.J. Reitz | 2024
State
IN
, 2024, 5-7 CG, Evansville F.J. Reitz H.S.
– The easiest way to describe Norah is, she’s just a ballplayer. She has ball skill, shooting touch, and creativity, but most importantly, she just seems to have a natural feel for the game. She tends to work her way out of tough situations, and she can score it at all three levels consistently. If she could prove to be able to sit down and defend little water-bugs, I would be more comfortable calling her a true point.
Mackenzie York
Mackenzie

Western | 2024
IN
, 2024, 5-7 CG, Western H.S.
– I have really enjoyed watching Mackenzie over the past couple of Summers, and she has helped Western to an outstanding start to the season this year. She has a strong, athletic frame, some length, and she moves fairly well in most directions. She can run offense and create for teammates, but she also has touch outside and the strength to attack the basket for scores in the paint.
