This past live event, Cobb got to have more of the light shining her way, and she left her mark. She is one of those players that you don’t know how to prepare for, because she’s unpredictable, and that’s hard to guard or scout for. She can get hot from everywhere on the court, and within a couple of possessions, completely switch to being a strong level playmaker. Hell of a combo guard.

Maya will be another big asset for this WV team going into the high school season. She’s a walking bucket and can get hot from beyond the arc, and when she does, it’ll be a hard matchup for the rest of the game. Strong handles and a high sense of confidence that allows her to play through mistakes.

. Cobb earns her playing time on defense. She demonstrated this weekend that she has quick hands, active feet, great situational awareness, and she isn’t afraid to mix it up with bigger opponents. She does a great job at jumping toward the basketball off of help-side and she doesn’t give up on a play until the buzzer or whistle sounds. Don’t get it twisted, she has a solid offensive bag as well but she did her best work on the defensive side over the past few days, standing out as one of the best defenders of the weekend at the guard position in my book.

An efficient night for the sophomore. Cobb can let it fly from beyond the arc, and the lefty can also put the ball on ground and get to the rim or make a play.

Waubonsie seems to be on a role and everybody on the roster contributes in their own way.. Cobb could be looked at as the secret weapon. If the main scorers aren’t on target, Cobb has the confidence to get things going. Having to adjust to a new role is not easy, but Cobb has taken the team first approach, which should improve her stock going into the summer.
