Ballinger is a player to watch out for over the rest of the season. You can see the tenacity and fearlessness that she plays with through the screen. Ballinger sold out going out of bounds to save a possession and got her own offensive rebound through hustle. She showed off a quick release and 3 point range off the catch and shoot.
Sophie Hazelton
Sophie Hazelton
It’s a short film clip, but there’s a good amount to digest here. Hazelton can shoot, so it’s no surprise that she connected on the game winning triple to defeat Potterville. But I see a whole lot of confidence in her movement. She cut hard from the opposite corner and looked like she wanted the shot the entire time. Hazelton was at the volleyball line, but there wasn’t an ounce of hesitation on that shot. She wanted it and coaches at the next level want that confidence.
This one will be a little different. Let’s give a shoutout to West Ottawa and their film that featured some excellent defense. When you have players making defensive plays like we see in these clips, that turns into team wins. Let’s start with Magaly Lemus Magaly Lemus C West Ottawa | 2025 State MI . It appeared as if not many shots were safe with the junior center roaming the paint. She came from the help side and blocked a shot, sent one back from behind and even chased down an opponent in transition and swatted the ball away. That’s 6 points saved in a matter of seconds. West Ottawa players turned defense into offense by creating turnovers. Gabrielle Reynolds Gabrielle Reynolds 5'10" | PG West Ottawa | 2024 State MI stole multiple passes, taking 1 the length of the floor and drawing a foul and finishing the other for 2. the length of the floor and was fouled.
Miss Video Game Numbers has been at it again. This collection of clips does a nice job showing her vast array of high level skills. Let’s start with the little things that are actually huge things. Abney is an effort and hustle player and we can see it in the film. She’s willing to hit the floor for a loose ball and chase down boards. Her ability to pull up and shoot is very impressive, she can start and stop on a dime and get her shot off, staying in perfect balance. Abney’s mid range game is special.

Instead, they trust their skills and execute. It’s very impressive the way they both utilize the ability to finish off 1 or 2 feet.
