The blowout win was their sixth victory by 40 points or more and so far no team had played them within double digits. Here’s a rundown of the standouts that made the Lady Indians dominant on the night.
On Friday night, the active senior forward broke the El Reno record for most rebounds in a career. She covers a lot of ground with her movements, from corralling those rebounds, to off the ball cuts and even flashed good quickness and instincts on a recovery block in transition. Along with grabbing those boards, Black-Harmon showed off that she has a cannon and vision with her ability to get it ahead for outlet passing.
Thomas is a game changer on the offensive end. She’s an offensive hub for El Reno, with great touch on her passing and of course post up scoring. The high-low chemistry she has with Black-Harmon gave Coweta fits, and there’s even signs that the junior has a big time bag on the low block when she posts up. At one point she even pushed it in transition herself, showing that her passing skills are good from all over the court. A skilled big like Thomas is an always fun watch.
Shooter alert. Bugaj has a pure looking jumper, as she hit nothing but net three different times in the second frame. She would hit another during their second half to further prove that her textbook looking shooting form is no fluke. Along with stretching the floor on offense, she’s willing to roll up her sleeves and work hard on the defensive end.
The vocal lead guard helped Thomas set the table on offense, while also orchestrating El Reno’s smothering defense. From getting her hands in passing lanes or scooping up loose balls to race off for transition points, Sleeper was very impactful on the defensive end. Often good with playing the role of creator, she did hit a nice off the glass floater in the second half.

The junior guard slots in seamlessly as another pest on the defensive end, with good quickness and control on the offensive end. She had a shifty drive to the rim in the first half and looked like another player who must be accounted for on the deep El Reno squad.

It’s a nice luxury that El Reno can bring on a forward prospect with great size and outstanding wingspan off the bench. The promising sophomore absolutely poured it on the around the rim in relief of the starters. With nimble movements, Roman Nose has the look of a good athlete with a promising future.
