Prospects Making Their Name

When she was a Freshman, she averaged 4.4 PPG and now as a Senior, she is all the way at 11.8 PPG, while also dishing out 4 APG from her Guard Position. Goings is the type of player that is going to always produce for her teammates, in one way or another. Each contest she steps on the floor, she is either scoring at an efficient rate or she is grabbing a handful of Rebounds, Assists, and Steals. Whatever way you want to think about it, she is making things happen on each possession in some way. Goings is looking to end of her Senior season with a bang. Her team has a few more contests before the Playoffs are upon them. She is a prospect that stands with natural height at 5'10 and she works hard on both sides of the floor. Offensively, she runs. She is a player that flys around the court from rim-to-rim, looking for an easy bucket in transition. If not, she is skilled enough to break down her opponent or to score over someone that may be smaller. Defensively, she is just as active. Her high school team seems to run a full-court press that leads to a lot of steals and transition buckets for them as a group. Land plays the middle of this zone and makes sure that there are no holes in the back end of their defense, coming down the floor in transition.  Overall, there is promise and a base to build on here. Matthews is a 5'6 Point Guard, that is quick and calculated in every move she makes. Throughout her teams 11 games this winter, she is averaging 5.6 APG, while only turning the ball over around half of that amount. This leads not only to having one of the highest APG averages throughout the state but also one of the highest Assists total for the season. Matthews checks a lot of boxes as a prospect. She averages high numbers in every statical category you can think of each contest, while being a leader coming down the floor with the ball. Looking forward, the future is bright for both Matthews and her Roncalli Catholic team. Lukassen is her teams source in the middle of the paint for scoring and rebounding. Each game they step onto the court, she puts up big numbers because of her natural combination of height and athletic ability. One of the more eye-opening or shocking stats that Lukassen registers is that she averaging 4.5 BPG, throughout 15 games. No matter what context you put that in or at what level someone is playing at, that is a high number. At this pace, this would be one of the highest numbers I've seen in this category held throughout an entire season in a long time. Throughout her teams 18 games, she is averaging around 4 SPG. Ranking her as one of the highest in the state, regardless of grade-level. The best ability of Kent's is her foresight. She see's passes coming, long before they are thrown and that helps set her up for success. If you were to sit down and watch her play for five minutes, you would think that she has the opponents playbook. She does a great job of jumping to the ball and is never afraid to sacrifice her body for the good of the team. As it pertains to prospects that are skilled, give it all they got, and earn their minutes of defense, Kent is in that conversation as being one of the most dedicated. She wants what is best for the team and that is something you can't teach as a coach.
