Madalyn Dolliver Madalyn Dolliver 5’7″ | SG Pender | 2026 NE of Pender High School had one of the best shooting nights I have ever seen the other day in her Pender Pendragon’s team win. In a performance in which she recorded 13 three point makes from behind the arc, she has kept that momentum rolling into the Playoffs. In her contest on Friday evening, Madalyn did her usual thing and contributed in several different ways for her Pendragons. She may of only ended this one with 11 Points but her role is much more then just scoring. If this team is going to want to take things all the way in their new Class, then Madalyn is going to have to continue to put up some big numbers from all over the floor. She is an offensive weapon but she is also pretty solid at defense and she understands how to play the role she is given in their system. If they can continue on their current path, they are going to like the results at the end of this 2023-2024 season in a few weeks.
We try to spread out the love when it comes to who get’s featured each week but sometimes there are players and performances that stand out in a big way, every single time they take the floor. Recently we featured Naomi White Naomi White 5’9″ | CG Bellevue West | 2024 NE in an article about how well she has been producing for her Thunderbird squad. Well that was on full display once again on Friday evening. In a game that I highlighted as a rivalry that could be intense before it tipped off, this one did not disappoint. It was a contest that went back and forth between both Bellevue West and Bellevue East from tip-off to the final buzzer. When everything was said and done, White finished with a game leading 35 Points, along with 12 Rebounds. The Thunderbirds got the win by 13 but the final score does not reflect how close this contest was throughout as Bellevue East was in the lead going into the 4th. I’m not sure who the Thunderbirds will face in their First Round at State but for now, they are going to enjoy their moment and live it up.
On Friday night the Omaha Central Eagles pulled off a big-time upset against Millard North High School by a final of 62-56. In a game that was a team effort in every way you can think of, a prospect that stood out to me was one of the Forwards in the paint, Justine Tcheuhchoua Justine Tcheuhchoua 5’11” | SF Omaha Central | 2026 State NE . When you hear about the Eagles, you hear about their undefined leaders Inia Jones Inia Jones 5’7″ | PG Omaha Central | 2024 State NE and Lillian Peterson but a few others are always chipping in and one of those players is Tcheuhchoua. In this specific contest, she ended with 12 Points and 7 Rebounds to help lead her team to a State appearance. I could have highlighted a handful of individuals in this spot but I really like what Tcheuhchoua brings to the game. Her natural length and athleticism is second-to-none, when she stays disciplined, this team is very tough to score on and that was prevalent tonight in their W.
The Lincoln Southeast Knights were a program that we highlighted at the beginning of the season because of their Senior leadership and the potential run they could string together once the Post-season got under way. Last night the Knights punched their tickets to Lincoln with a 4 point victory over Pius X, 51-47. In this W, the biggest contributor for Southeast was their Center, Nyaluak Dak Nyaluak Dak 6’2″ | C Lincoln Southeast | 2024 State NE . Dak has been and will be the source of this teams production until the day she graduates. Against Piux X on Friday night, she ended with another double-double with 14 Points and 17 Rebounds. If you have seen this group compete or know anything about them in the slightest, you understand Dak and her ability on the high school floor. She is un-guardable in one-on-one situations and thats been on full display all season long. I have a feeling she is going to be just as good at the collegiate level with the Illinois Red Birds but we will just have to wait and see.
Highlights
Paxton High School ended up putting together an 18 point win on Friday evening against Leyton Michaelis Leyton Michaelis 5’6″ | SF Elkhorn Ridge Middle School | 2029 NE High School, 77-59. In this victory, The Tigers had three individuals that scored over 17 points and four that scored over 10 points, putting together a balanced offensive attack. The most efficient prospect being Guard, Abigale Nicholson Abigale Nicholson 5’4″ | PG Paxton | 2024 NE . Nicholson is a Senior with quick hands and feet. She is someone that moves effortlessly down the floor and excels in the open space off of the dribble. She capped on this game with a 17 point performance on 4/6 shooting from the field. There are a few players that I could have talked about from this one but the most efficient was definitely Nicholson. This team effort is something of beauty. If they keep it going, they are going to continue to like their results moving closer and closer to the State Title game.
