However, they weren’t the only athletes to shine and let their names be known. Let’s take a look at some of the senior guards who made an impact on the court for their teams.
Demya Phifer was making some nice moves with the ball getting to the basket and knocking down shots from the free throw line as she created space for herself to get the shots. She had a nice quick closeout around the perimeter getting a strong shot block to end the first quarter. She’s so quick and knows how to get her hands in the way making a dominant block in transition in the fourth quarter.

Makaylah Tenor had a strong third quarter giving her team the lead with her three point shot and her quick awareness catching the pass and scoring at the rim in transition. She got inside grabbing offensive rebounds extending the possession of her team. She knew how to fill in the right role each time she stepped on the court making sure her team had a chance to score on every possession.
Olivia Fava started out the scoring for Catholic driving baseline and banking it off the glass. Her on ball defense was definitely an asset getting the ball from her opponents and immediately finding an open teammate filling the open lane up the court. She’s patient letting plays develop getting the pass to her teammates. She took advantage of open lanes getting to the basket even making an old fashioned three point play.
Kate McArdle showed off her range shooting the ball opening up the second half with a nice bucket. She was doing a nice job anticipating what her opponents will do on defense knocking the ball away and slowing down their tempo. She did well guarding the opposing team’s best player making her change her pace. She stepped up for her team grabbing a big steal in the fourth quarter right when her team needed to slow the momentum of their opponents.

Kenae Edwards had some tough takes in the paint showing off her handles and strength to score two points. She earned some trips to the free throw line after pushing the ball up the court in transition. She runs the floor well always being ready for the pass in transition, and she knows to get to the basket or step out for the jumper.
