Demya Phifer is an absolute energy trend setter for whatever team she plays on.  As a back-to-back state champion with West Rowan, she certainly set the standard for how to have a high motor and keep up the energy the entire game.  She attacks the basket off the dribble, and she knows how to push the tempo finding her open teammates up the court.  Her athleticism shows up on the other end being able to jump in front of passing lanes and keep up with opponents blocking shots on their way to the hoop.

Demya Phifer was making some nice moves with the ball getting to the basket and knocking down shots from the free throw line as she created space for herself to get the shots.  She had a nice quick closeout around the perimeter getting a strong shot block to end the first quarter.  She’s so quick and knows how to get her hands in the way making a dominant block in transition in the fourth quarter.

Demya Phifer is returning to her 3A state champion team continuing to lead them as a senior this season.  She is feisty on both ends of the ball being able to attack the basket battling through contact, and she can grab a steal anticipating what her opponents will do on defense.  She has a way of getting to the rim rolling the ball off her fingertips that is fun to watch, and she is speedy hustling up and down the court scoring on fast breaks.

Demya Phifer Demya Phifer 5'7" | PG West Rowan | 2024 State NC was bringing energy to her team with her defense coming up with some nice steals right when her team needed it, and she found her open teammate filling in the lanes hustling up the court for the pass.  She weaves around her opponents showing some smooth fakes on her way to the basket.  She even gets inside to grab rebounds for her team, and she takes these defensive boards right up the court on fast breaks.

Demya Phifer Demya Phifer 5'7" | PG West Rowan | 2024 State NC was certainly getting in the heads of her opponents with the way she handled the ball and can shoot all over the court.  She did a nice job making it count from the free throw line after attacking the basket battling through contact.  She’s tough on defense, too, anticipating passes and grabbing the steals to push up the court.

Demya Phifer Demya Phifer 5'7" | PG West Rowan | 2024 State NC is a high motor guard that moves well downhill getting to the rim with ease.  She is constantly moving even without the ball making sure she is attacking the gaps and shifting the defense.  As a defender herself, she is feisty stripping the ball from her opponents and pushing these steals up the court with speed.  Her quickness lets her explode into passing lanes grabbing steals that way, too.

Demya Phifer Demya Phifer 5'7" | PG West Rowan | 2024 State NC moves so well with the ball making sure she attacks the gaps or makes the nice pass to her teammates.  She can drive hard to the basket scoring herself putting up some nice floaters in the paint.  Her ability to relocate after the pass makes her an asset on the court all the time.

Demya Phifer Demya Phifer 5'7" | PG West Rowan | 2024 State NC found the openings and attacked the basket battling through contact for her points.  She is quick handling the ball and finding the openings filling the lanes in transition.  She did a nice job using her change of direction ball moves to get to the hoop and score some points on some isolation plays.

Fresh off of a 12 point, 10 rebound performance in the NCHSAA 3A State Championship game, Demya checks all the boxes of being a dynamic PG worthy of more recognition. She demonstrates dynamic speed off the dribble which constantly opens up the floor for her teammates. She does a great job making the right pass to set up her bigs for layups. She has overall great court vision and awareness and is such a steady ball handler.
