It sure seems like it with these athletes in this class! The 5 players below are going to excel during the upcoming AAU season, senior season, and at the next level!
1 Zaniah Zellous Zaniah Zellous 6'2" | PF George Washington | 2025 State WV | 6’2 | PF | 2025 | George Washington HS
Zellous is a true powerhouse athlete! She has over 25+ offers for a reason! Not many athletes get to take their pick at the next level, but Zaniah does! The athleticism and strength that Zaniah has is truly unmatched! Zellous has great size and she knows exactly how to use it! If any athlete knows how to hit the weight room, it’s Zaniah! She has a college ready body, and she has a college ready mind! There was no way to move Zellous from the number 1 spot!
2. Alexis Bordas Alexis Bordas 5'8" | SG Wheeling Park | 2025 State WV |5’8 | G | 2025 | Wheeling Park HS
Yes, putting Bordas at number 2 was difficult. However, she is number 1 in her position! The young star has back to back Gatorade Player of the Year awards for a reason. The awards and accolades that Alexis has is unmatched. She’s a state champion too! She’s a leader! She’s a winner! If I’m a coach at the next level, I want Alexis on my team! Alexis moves without the ball better than anyone I’ve watched! Bordas has the ability to score at all 3 levels! The 3-level scorer term gets thrown around loosely a lot, but trust me, this is an athlete that can get it done! Yes, she is the best shooter in the state!
3. Brooke Adkins Brooke Adkins 6'0" | PG Wayne | 2025 State WV |6’0 | G | 2025 | Wayne HS
I made a tweet during the state tournament that stated, “YOU want the Adkins’ sisters on your team.” I stand by this 110%! You want Brooke on your team at the next level! Who doesn’t love a 6 foot versatile point guard? She has amazing size and length! Brooke makes the correct reads and she is a multi-dimensional player! Adkins has a high IQ & her ability to play different positions is unmatched!
4. Allie Daniels Allie Daniels 6'1" | PF Spring Valley | 2025 State WV |6’2 | PF | 2025 | Spring Valley HS
Allie has proven to everyone that she belongs in the top 5! The numbers that she was able to put up during her junior season were remarkable! Allie had numerous games where she pulled in over 15 rebounds. She is a true double-double machine! How do you keep this one off the glass? Her ability to box out and crash the boards is unmatched! Daniels also has a soft touch around the rim.
5. Dria Parker Dria Parker 5'10" | SF Spring Valley | 2025 State WV |5’10 | SG/SF | 2025 | Spring Valley HS
Dria is a prime example of a good basketball player! Stan Van Gundy once said, “If you defend, rebound, and limit turnovers, you’re going to put yourself in a position where you can win games.” Parker does this and so much more on the court! Dria is an efficient player on both sides of the court and she has proven that she can guard numerous positions! She has put in the time and work and it continues to show every time she steps on the court! Parker knows exactly how to play to her strengths! I love her shot selection and how efficient she is with her outside shot too! Remember, “Your contribution doesn’t have to be 25 points, but it has to be something.” When you watch Dria, you know exactly what she brings to any team she plays with!
You will see all of these athletes at the next level! I’m excited to cover them more throughout their senior seasons. Keep working in all you do! The ceiling is extremely high for all of you!
