Robert Kelly | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
The consensus first team all-stater and Sports In Kansas 2A player of the year heads a senior class of talented point guards. Blazing speed with the ball, quickness defensively and working the half court and three level scoring mark her game.

The returning unanimous first team pick and SIK 2A player of the year repeated as first team Crawford-Neosho-Cherokee League. And if you stand back far enough it is easy to see why. Up close you are gonna miss a great deal. Davis has strong handles and is a three level scorer who finishes well with both hands. She is also among the fastest players in the state with the ball. Very few defenders even remotely can stay within three steps. She has defensive chops as well. Terrific lateral quickness, quick hands and smarts to work over opposing point guards – when sister Janessa is not doing it – makes her a two-way force.

is a true two-way playmaker, making a significant impact on both ends of the court. On offense, she demonstrates exceptional court vision and decision-making, consistently creating scoring opportunities for her teammates through precise passing and intelligent ball movement.
Equally impressive is her ability to make plays on the defensive end. Whether it’s anticipating passes for steals, disrupting offensive sets, or igniting fast breaks with her defensive efforts, Jakayla’s active and intelligent playmaking translates to disrupting opponents and generating offense for her team. This dual threat makes her an invaluable asset.

A talented 5’6″ point guard is a dynamic performer with the ball in her hands. She really excels in the open court where she went coast to coast a number of times in the game that I watched. She can also change speeds and directions to break down defenders and keep them off balance. She was also dialing it up from long distance if she was given a step.

Davis is a super quick athlete with excellent ball skills. She is a threat to go coast-to-coast every time she touches the ball. During the Class 2A State Tournament, she scored 58 total points over three games for the Panthers. She is a three-level scorer and has a dead-eye from the free-throw line. Davis is ranked No. 16 overall in the recent rankings.

While the Panthers lost the last of their huge front line to graduation Davis returns for another push to the state title that has eluded the Panthers. She was absolutely dominant at the Prep Girls Hoops Dynsasty Circuit events I saw this past summer. The returning Crawford-Neosho-Cherokee League first team selection also picked up Sports In Kansas second team and KBCA and KSHSAACovered 2A honorable mention honors last season.

Someone that many might not expect to make this list is guard, Jakayla Davis of Missouri Flight 2026. Davis is someone else that I would consider the real deal. She is a smooth operator with the ball in her hands offensively, she can score from all three levels in the blink of an eye, she is selfless in her play-style, and she works relentlessly on both sides of the basketball. Not to mention that she rebounds hard and she comes up with a ton of tips/deflections because of her combination of active hands and feet. I saw Davis compete multiple times this weekend. When I first sat down to watch her on Saturday I knew she had it together as a well-rounded prospect but wasn’t sure if she was just having a solid game. When I watched her again on Sunday morning, she blew me out of the water with her effort and production. Something you can’t fake is production and Davis produces no matter the situation. If she continues to ball like this into the future, I’ll be intrigued into seeing where she ends up to compete at the collegiate level.
