Making her season debut after missing the first two weeks of the season with an ankle injury, Madison made up for lost time with one of the best games of her young career as she dumped in 16 points in a 29-26 win over Heritage-Catoosa. The southpaw drained threes and proved to be elusive off the dribble, freeing herself with spin moves to get to her floater. Madison played under control and took smart shots.

Madison Whitfield was huge in the clutch, scoring twelve points in the last five minutes of the game. She hit huge contested three-pointers, made and-one layups, and even had a clutch steal that led to an open layup for her teammate to ice the game.

Madison is a high IQ defensive player who consistently puts herself in the right position to make plays. Her anticipation is exceptional—she knows exactly when to jump passing lanes or step in to help, leading to timely steals and disrupted possessions. Madison’s awareness and discipline make her a key piece of her team’s defensive success. Offensively, she brings that same fearless mindset, never hesitating to get downhill and attack the basket. She welcomes contact and does a great job drawing fouls, putting pressure on the defense and earning trips to the free throw line. Her smart, aggressive two-way play makes her a constant impact player on the court.

Madison had the fun task of being face guarded in the game I watched as she played up two grade levels in the 17U division. This lefty showed that she could score it at all three levels which is somewhat rare for someone with only one high school season under their belt. She’s a crafty guard who has some sharp handles and was knocking down three ball and mid-range jumpers when I was watching. Her athleticism showed on both sides of the court and was hard to handle for most teams she played against.

stepped by averaging 3.9 deflections and 3 steals per game along with 4 RB’s per game. The combo guard only averaged 4 ppg this weekend, but was the main “playmaker” for NME when they needed it. Madi Ice lived up to her nickname by nailing the game winning free throw with one second left over iBall Elite at the LIVE! at Lakepoint event this weekend in Atlanta!Access all of Prep Girls Hoops
