Dyer’s outside shot wasn’t falling like usual against Wood Elite , but she still managed to sink a pair of threes and was successful finding points inside the arc when she hunted them. Ava dropped in an And-1 baseline floater to spark her offense. Dyer converted a steal into a layup and snuck onto the glass for a putback. Ava Bray finished with 12 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. When she’s hot, Dyer is one of the most dangerous shooters in the state off the catch.

Ava is one of those kids that hears “Shooter!” whenever she’s on the floor. She has a nice stroke and can knock it down from all over. Her mid-range game was also on point as well as a couple of floaters I saw her hit.

Dyer is the other half of that 6A North Paulding connection that gave plenty of opposing teams (and coaches) fits during the winter months. Dyer has translated the Wolfpack’s winning ways to club basketball and the 14 points she scored to earn North Metro Elite 15U its win over Team Brandan Wright 15U Red. When watching how accurate she is from behind the arc, one can see why she concluded her middle school career as the most prolific long range specialist in the history of her middle school alma mater – North Paulding. Dyer is also a problem for opposing teams on defense with her ability to force opponents into turnovers.

Ava unleashed a pair of three-pointers in the first half, getting loose for open looks. Dyer has a chance to establish herself as one of the premier shooters in Georgia as she earns more and more playing time. Defenses have to be on high alert whenever the freshman enters the game. She’s a lethal floor spacer.

Dyer is a game changer. When you hear her name, you think shooter. She definitely put on a show on Saturday with her ability to consistently knock down the triple. A player that knows how to get to her spots and score at any given moment. High Energy.
