The ball lived in her hands, and more often than not, it ended with points on the board. Houlder boasts one of the most advanced handles in the state, highlighted by a devastatingly sharp crossover that consistently leaves defenders frozen. What separates her is her ability to change speeds with subtlety, lulling defenders to sleep before exploding past them with sudden acceleration.

The crafty lefty is equally dangerous as a passer, firing off one-handed lasers with either hand, showcasing rare ambidexterity and vision. She plays with an attacking mindset, always looking to create—whether for herself or others. Once she breaks down her defender, she gets into her pull-up game with confidence and balance, making her tough to contain in space. Houlder’s elusiveness, combined with her creativity, allows her to score from all three levels. She’s a true sparkplug scorer who can take over stretches of a game in a hurry and consistently tilt the floor in her team’s favor.

Hailey’s game continues to grow with her age. She has been one of the most skilled guards in Georgia for a long time with a name that a lot of people know in the South. The last few times I have seen her play for Archer in high school and Winners United this travel ball season her decision making and efficiency have been on the on the same level as her skill. She has looked like a composer leading their orchestra in both settings, shining alight on her teammates while also taking her moments to shine. Hailey’s speed is elite and her ball handling is on a different level than the vast majority of players her age and has been for a while. That combination makes her one of the very best point guard prospects in her class in the country. You know going into every game that there is the possibility of seeing two or three SportsCenter top 10-type plays with her flair handling the ball and elite passing ability.

Houlder’s high usage rate resulted in points more often than not. She has an elite handle with the sharpest crossover in Georgia. She freezes defenders with a quick subtle change of pace, shifting her way with terrific acceleration. The lefty whistles in one-handed lasers with both her left and right hands. Hailey wants to make a play every time she has the ball. With her elusiveness, Houlder breaks down defenders before getting to her pull-up jumper. She nailed four threes and got to the line consistently shooting 6-10. Houlder exploded for 22 points, 2 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals. The southpaw was dynamic.

Houlder is a player who does it and continues to get better each time I watch her. She knows how to score and use all the tricks in her bag to get her shot off. Uses the step back move to help create space on her shot but she also has the magician handles which allow her to get downhill. Knows how to play with pace and spacing. One of the best passers I have seen in a while.

Houlder was a game changer. Her ability to score at all 3 levels is what stood out most. One of the quickest guards I have seen in a while with the ball in her hands. Her shifty handles allowed her to carve through the defense and find the open player at the basket. Great court vision. When you take away her drive, she has the ability to create space and knock down the 3 ball. True scoring point guard that knows when to score and when to control tempo.

I have seen Hailey play numerous times over the past five years or so and Thursday night might have been her best, most complete performance as a point guard I have seen from her. Houlder put on a ball handling display, pulling out combinations that had defenders going the wrong way and the crowd yelling. The ball was on a string and she was in complete control. I have been a believer in Hailey for along time and it was great to see her run her team like a mature, experienced point guard in only her second high school season.

Hailey is a quick lefty guard who made an impact with runners in the lane and stepback threes from deep. She plays with a solid motor and brings energy on every possession. Her ability to score and create for herself makes her a constant threat. Houlder is a player who consistently lifts her team with her effort and skill.

Defended 94 feet. Quick hands, very disruptive. Ball of fire and energy; tough to contain in transition. She dished out some flashy no-look dimes while charging full steam ahead. Impressive court vision; perfectly placed passes. She made quick [and smart] decisions in real time.

Holder is back in Gwinnett County after leaving Grayson before her freshman year to star at Whitefield Academy where she averaged 16.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 4.8 steals per game. Her addition to the Archer backcourt adds another quick playmaker with a knack for scoring from multiple levels.

Houlder is a game changer with a High IQ. A player not afraid to attack the rim and get downhill quickly. Showed her ability to score at all 3 levels. Knows when to score and when to distribute the basketball.
