Sunday Southern Showcase Notes

I got out Sunday for a bit to watch some of the Southern Showcase in Norman. The gym was loaded with talented players on all 8 courts. At times I caught myself trying to watch two courts at once. I was there to watch a game or two and found myself taking notes on players. Listed are 8 players that I took notes on. Again I was only there for about 3-4 games so if I missed you tag me and I will for sure check you out

# 3 [player_tooltip player_id='396323' first='Mya' last='Alston'] Mustang HS Grind Prep Class 2027 Long athletic player that played inside the paint and well as outside. Impressive was her footwork with the ball in hand. Mya is among the top players in Oklahoma Class 2027. I know she has been covered but not to mention her would be bad on my part when speaking of the players I saw Sunday

#33 Sionna Williams Mustang MS Unity Class 2029 Sionna is a 2030 that played up in 2027 Division this past Sunday. Long athletic looking forward that has a BIG Upside. Inside she was feeding the defense a dose of up and under moves finishing at the rim. In the high post she squared up and used quick first step taking the defender to the rim. Definitely a player to watch

#0 Paislee Carter Harrah HS Unity Class 2028 Solid point that handle the ball in the open floor. Great vision in the open court finding the open player in transition. Knocked down several 3's from the outside as well as getting to the rim. Quick hands and great instinct on defending the passing lanes creating several turnovers

#5 [player_tooltip player_id='654549' first='Kenna' last='Esparza'] 5'4 Purcell HS OGF/Showstoppers Class 2025 Kenna team was consistently pressed the whole game and she split the 2-2-1 breaking the press. Quick guard that sees the gap and attacked it aggressively making the right decisions. A true point guard that showed a high IQ running the offense

#23 Courtney Thompson 5'9 Lawton Mac OK Select Class 2025 Strong post moves on the block. I really like how physical she is when competing. The old school in me calls that a banger! Good hands and nice footwork on the block made her a force Sunday. Handled the ball in transition several times as well

#4 [player_tooltip player_id='1090920' first='Easton' last='McCollough'] 5'9 Farmington [program_tooltip program_id='715977' first='AAO' last='Flight'] Class 2028 First time seeing Easton and wow impressive. Easton can flat out shoot the ball from outside and mid range. A complete guard that handled the ball and made good decisions at the guard spot. Showed a nice pump fake at the 3 point line and then 1 dribbled pull up

#1 Kash Cooper 5'9. Heritage Hall. Unity. Class 2028 One tough lefty that can get to the rim or knock down the 3 point shot with range. Strong ball handler that used a spin move at times to get by her defender getting to the rim. Nice ball handling skills as she played the point at times. Kash is another player that has been mentioned and covered before but an impressive player. Size, handles, and can shoot made her a tough match up

#25 [player_tooltip player_id='762035' first='Destiny' last='Duffy'] 5'6 Piedmont [program_tooltip program_id='712936' first='Team' last='Oklahoma'] Class 2026 A shooting guard that got hot from the outside knocking down couple 3's. Scrappy type player that got in the mix winning couple 50/50 balls Showed a good feel for the game hitting the pick and roll on the correct reads. Played hard on both ends of the floor
