On May 31st and June 1st, the Lady X tournament took place on the campus of Grand Canyon University. This event had multiple state championship teams from the 2023-24 season. There were also multiple players with college offers of all levels.

Here I look at more of the standouts from the event:

[player_tooltip player_id='443661' first='Olivia' last='Owens'] Phoenix Country Day

Owens was smooth as usual, getting to her spots almost effortlessly. She scored from all three levels, showing some athletic finishes around the rim. On defense, she displayed quick hands and had some crazy blocks.

[player_tooltip player_id='558895' first='Heather' last='Stedman'] Pinnacle

Stedman was in attack mode when I saw her. Her length and strength allowed her to get downhill often. She finished through contact very well. Her pull up jump shot is as good as there is in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='582391' first='Aila' last='Kaibara'] Phoenix Country Day

Aila is as hot a player as there is in the state. Her floor game seems to have gone up a level. She showed a herky-jerky dribble style that was hard for defenders to read and finished around the rim with either hand.

[player_tooltip player_id='780451' first='Novelle' last='McQuiston'] Perry

McQuiston played at her own pace and smartly picked her shots from all over the court. She shot it well from the perimeter and did a good job of keeping her teammates involved.

[player_tooltip player_id='624472' first='Jacqueline' last='Rosado'] Casteel

The reigning 5A San Tan offensive player of the year did a good job of looking to get her offense going and getting the younger players involved. She got to the free-throw line well and shot a good percentage from the field.

[player_tooltip player_id='608219' first='Bella' last='Burcar'] Perry (Featured Image)

The more and more Burcar plays the less you see her as just a shooter. She is an all-around scorer. She got her points from the line, the three-point line, and attacked on the fast break. Her recruitment should pick up more soon.
